You may find off the shelf hubs and just have to get bearings to match your stubs

I cannot believe it. Tima has flown to get to this road trip.

12 days before I land in Dallas Fort Worth on the 14th October.

Then up to Searcy Arkansas, and will be in Fayettevile Arkansas on 17,18 October.

Kansas City by 19th and Oklahoma City for a couple of days 20-22 October

Then back to Arkansas and finally a few days in Dallas and Waco plus Leander before flying back the 29th.
Greetings from England.

Rian.

Some of God's most awesome people live out there.

I guess I could have gone to Disney world but thats not the real America is it?

Rather spend time with real life double Purple Heart winners and salt of the earth friends than blow my very limited funds on overpriced tourist traps.

Still, it will be just awesome.

Grizz ..........I think you got life all figured out, there is so much to see and do in this country besides over priced things like Disneyland/World and the likes, standing shoulder to shoulder with rude inconsiderate people. Some of the best vacations ever cost me the least, and have the best memory's by far.

I was only kidding about Arkansas. There are no bad places here. Okay, maybe Disneyland. But nowhere else.

Welcome to the US. Also, welcome to Arkansas, "Land of Opportunity". We lived there when I was a child & loved it. There are gorgeous places in NW Arkansas. If you have the time, near your Fayetteville & Searcy destinations are the following:

Buffalo National River http://www.nps.gov/buff/index.htm
Mount Magazine State Park http://www.mountmagazinestatepark.com

Have a great trip.

Thank you for the replies and advice guys.

Cliff, I got you....

This is our rough plan of action captured in a road trip thread.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/show ... p?t=653025

I guess the biggest problem is not being able to bring back all the treasures we find along the way.

For me that would be number plates for my collection and spares for the truck.

My mate Martin wants a whole truck.

Should be fun.

It'll cost, but ship 'em. Always bring an empty suitcase. I have a small one that folds flat to travel inside a bigger one, until I start filling it up.

Got extra bag. Bought extra allowance.

May end up shipping some.

Well.

What can I say?

The USA has exceeded my "expectations" by 100% so far.

Having started in Dallas, Texas then up to Searcy, Arkansas via Sulphur Springs and Texarcana.
From there on to Fayetteville for a couple of days, up to Kansas City to pick up a spares order and down to Winfield Kansas to spend time friend Herb and his wife. On the way there a stop in El Dorado to check out a Hot Rod shop that also builds Hummers with Duramax engines that kick out 1500bhp
Then on to Ada in Oklahoma for dinner with Paul and Brandon and their families. We left there at 11.00pm and drove through to Phil's place in Norman, OKC. Getting there at 00.45am we then proceeded to talk trucks, big blocks, rock crawlers, nitrous and moonshine till 05.00. Phil and his son Austin ran us all over Oklahoma City to pick up more parts as well as a pass by Farmtruck and AZN's place and then over past Murder Nova's shop.
Next day over to Kieths place in Tulsa where he took us for long run down the interstate in one of his limited edition 2016 Kenworth trucks. Super smooth.
Most days we have followed off the beaten track. Seeking out older routes like Route 66, the i177, US Route 124 etc. makes for interesting travel.
So after Tulsa we headed back to Clem and Kim's in Fayetteville where I collected my side trim, s/s bed strips and bought a used auto shift steering column. Then today we left in the midst of a Razorbacks game with Fayetteville traffic being pretty busy.
Taking back roads we then returned to Don's place in Searcy, Arkansas.
Next up, back to Sulphur Springs on Sunday followed by Gas Monkey Garage on Monday, then down to Leander, Texas via Waco and a day in Leander on Tuesday.

So thats it up to now.
Greetings from England.

Sounds like a very good trip so far. Watch out for the rains in Texas, there's more weather on the way still!

Well, I did what you guys said.........

Went to see Sue at ASM Upholstery.

Then GAS MONKEY GARAGE !!!

Well, we spent almost 3 hrs behind the scenes at Gas Monkey Garage yesterday and also ASM Sue's upholstery place
Knowing some amazingly cool people did help get us in. Aaron was taken with us and spent at least 30 minutes of real conversation time talking to us. Incredibly bright guy. Also let me photo his tattoo and told me its story. (No, I was not starstruck)
Jonathan Mansauer the behind the scenes guy was great as well and spent a lot of time showing us around and asking loads of quiestions about what we do.

A lovely thing to have been privileged to.

Thanks to all involved.

Down in Austin Texas area today.
