I have finished the wiring in the roof and completed the insualtion. I used 2 layers of 3/4" foam on the main roof sections and 2 layers of 1/2 inch foam in the trolley top section. Now on to the outer layers of plywood.

Hey! Glad to see you are back in action.

That's a beautiful foam job you did there. Looks almost good enough to eat!

Keep the pics coming. Full speed ahead!

Well got a little bit of time today to do some sanding on the joint and hopefully this weekend I will be able to put some plywood on the roof.

Re: Modified 2+2 trolley top - roof plywood started -pg 11

Got the first layer of 1/8" plywood on my trailer roof. Used construction adhesive and 1/2" staples. I will leave the staples in place. I am now starting to put on the second layer of plywood. I am using plastic strapping to staple through for the second layer, so I will be able to remove the staples once the adhesive sets up.

It is nice to just be making progress. My time to work on the trailer has been very limited due to my job. I was hoping to get it ready in time for this years IRG, but I will not be able to do that. Oh well at least it is progress.

You will hit a surge soon.... I can feel it!

Started putting on the second layer of plywood on the roof. I started out using some web strapping that I had, but was not very pleased with the results. The straping was helping to remove the staples, but not all of them. Also using the web strapping and staples did not work the best for applying pressure to help hold the plywood down.

Image

I then decided to rip some 1 inch wide strips of 1/8" plywood scraps. The strips are actually easier to use then the web strapping. It also helps apply good even pressure and holds the plywood better. Plus romoving the strips with the staples is easier. There are also less marks from the stapler and staples in the second layer of plywood then there is with the web strapping.

Image

Was not able to finish the second layer of roofing since I ran out of construction adhesive. It is Sunday and I live in a small town, should have bought more yesterday. Oh well should be able to finish the second layer next week and then move on to the hatch.
