nice build it's got me thinking maybe I should try a smaller one to use as a steping stone for a full sized one as I'm staring at my plans here I could just scale it down like you did
the pictures are great hope to see more

Got my wheels under the camper so I can roll it out from the wall to work on it and then stick it back in the corner.

Had to do this cause I'm bringing my big tear home from storage this weekend and it'll take up a lot of room with both in the garage.

Next the galley

My trailer dolly

Scott,

The trailer dolly turned out nice. It sure will come in handy moving the teardrop shell around the garage.

Take care, Tom

Found the wheels and the wood is scrap stuff should work nice till I get the trailer it sure rolls good. With 2 in the garage it will help free up some space.

Wow almost a year with no post and no progress on the tiny camper  I had to go to page 9 to find this thread.
But I've started it back up a friend of min's buying it for the cost to finish it and he's already booked a site at the CRA gathering so now I have pressure to finish ( I like working under pressure ) We went last night and bought the ceiling and counter for it so hopefully I'll have some new pics soon.

Re: Tiny Grumman Trailer 5/31/13

I have the trailer for the camper and am finishing it up for a friend he's financing the build and the goal is the CRA Gathering so we'll see if I can make it :worship:

Here's the trailer and body, now the question the floor of the tear is 40 1/2" by 6' the frame is 40 1/2" x 48" the the frame has to go towards the back so the wheels are behind the door. So what I need is to lengthen the frame forward so the tongue sticks farther than 6" out the front, I'd like a triangle frame on the front for a future tongue box. Any ideas on how I can do this without any welding cause I don't wels and can't aford to have someone weld it for me.

Pictures for reference

Looks like your trailer tongue is bolted in. Go to your nearest steal supply and get a new tongue long enough to meet your needs. Bolt the new one in place. I would bump up the wall thickness on the new tongue because you are making it longer.

If you want an A frame front you can but steel for that, cut to fit, and bolt together just like the rest.

Or you can move the center bar toward the front (HF already has pre-drilled holes for you) to lengthen the tongue! :D

I made some progress this past weekend with a little help I was able to get the frame streatched and the body fits on the new fram like a glove, not bad for building it a 2 years before I got the frame.

Upside down camper had to add a bottom below the insulation

That's the spare I stated and never finished I worked a deal with a friend of mine that I'd finish it for him if he'd fund the build. I'll be camping tis summer in my old one ( can't wait for CRA ) and hopefully by fall he'll be joining us officlially at the fall gathering

With this kind of bolted frame HF, I suggest, at least, all the corners should be welded. No matter how tight all the bolts are, there is still some movement, and that will "hurt" the wooden section.
