Hey Cliff,
The Tear is looking Great! How far is Otto, Nc. from Wv. line? If you feel like a roadtrip come up and we'll find somewhere to camp even if its in the frontyard...

Thanks for your comments about my Teardrop - I have really enjoyed working on it. In response to your questions, the clearance for the kitchen hatch is probably between 6 1/2 - 7 feet. The trailer dimensions are 5' wide X 5" high X 10" long. The cabinets in the front of the tear are 11 1/4" deep. If you have any other questions concerning dimensions of the various aspects of the tear, feel free to ask. Thanks, Cliff

John T and Linda: We are probably 6 - 7 hours from the W Va line; we live about an hour south of Asheville, NC and only about 45 minutes from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway (maybe we'll take the Teardrop on a tour of the Parkway one day) and the Great Smoky Mountains Nat'l Park. Lots of good camping in our area as well.

Miriam: You probably won't believe this, but I found both windows (haven't posted a picture of the second window, only the one I installed in the door) at our local dump. My wife did the spray painting and window tinting job on them to 'bring them back to life'. Nothing like a good bargain, huh? LOL

hey Cliff,
Think you guys will be at the Tearjerker's gathering at the Racoon Holler? Last yr there was 22 campers there and had a great time, rained only a little on Sat. This yr it May 21-23, check out South Appalachain's chapter for info on the Tearjerker's site. It's almost in your backyard.

John T, Sorry it took me a while to reply. In addition to camping, I have a bit of a motorcycle addiction and was at the Survivor's Bike Rally in Cherokee this weekend. My wife and I stopped off at Racoon Holler last year when we were headed out for vacation and I spoke to a couple of the campers that were still there (we got there as everyone was pulling out). Saw some pics of some builds and their travels and found them quite interesting to talk to. Unfortunately, even if my teardrop were ready by then, we won't be attending this year. We will be cruising the Caribbean at that time. Hope you guys enjoy! Cliff

Greetings from England.

Thanks for your comments. Neat looking van in the picture. Just came from a bike rally in our area this weeked and one of the guys there had an extended '67 Fairlane van that he was camping in (about the same amount of room in the sleeping compartment as my tear). Keep in touch, Cliff

I like the look of your interior! I was wondering how you (or if you) hold the TV and DVD player down? I have the same style TV and I have to lay it down in the bed before I take off.

Hey Cliff,
That galley is the the most beautiful one that I've seen. Love it!!! The interior is great too.

I agree with John. Your woodwork and cabinet design is excellent!
