DoDropN Redo!!

Postby CliffinGA » Sat Jun 12, 2010 10:32 pm

As many have seen I bought a lil tear on craigslist for $600. Over next4 weeks I'm finally getting time to wwork on it before we take to Teardays of Summer up at Cloudland Canyon in middle of July. Started out tonight with Painting outside . Next tomorrow is lay laminate tile on floor and either paint the inside or panel it. It doesn't have a galley but we have a table we take camping and all the other gear for cooking under the canopy we have. We will be putting an AC and bigger tires over next couple of weeks. I will be posting pics as I redo stuff.

Yes I know I didn't my prtep I would normally due but will clean that up tomorrow before I do more coats. Tonight was just to see what it looked like and to see how the wifey liked it. This color was a happy medium for us, She wanted a light baby blue and I wanted a dark blue so we settled on this.

Wow, an interesting shape. First one of those I've seen! What a deal too. I like the color you picked. By bigger tires, you mean wider ones?

Great project!

Thanks Mike!! It is very simple and its light weight.

Thanks Ratkitty, by bigger tires I'm going to go taller by going from 12" rims to 14" and thus raising it around 4 - 5" off the ground. Right now the trailer is so low that I can only use the front stabilizers and have to use a jack to even get the back one down.

Ok I got 3 coats of paint on it and then took the old fenders off it and cut the brackets so new 14" wheels and tires would fit on it.

Difference between 12" and 14" wheels and tires.

And my new pet that I found under the fender when I took it of the side I'm standing on in the pic above.

Tomorrow cleaning the floor inside and putting laminate down.

Update 6-22

Postby CliffinGA » Tue Jun 22, 2010 9:44 pm

Well getting short on time before we take it out this weekend so working late to get it done. The wife has worked on painting the inside a cream color and tonight I laid in the linoleum. Image

Then I worked on my GA redneck A/C unit!! This is the window part of it for ducting inside. Haven't added the duct tape yet!!!

And this is the window a/c unit. Yes that is duct tape actually being used for its actually made for!!!!
Using duct tape so I can remove the filter and clean it.

Well now have to cut the mattress down and do some finish stuff on outside. Need to make a new license plate holder off the bumper, and install new chains for the hitch!!!

My neighbor came over and looked at the trailer to get an idea for extending the tongue and adding more support so I can add a box on the front. He's been busy getting his race car ready and had been gone for last week running it up in Kentucky and had got home yesterday.

Well thats it for tonight!!
