We began our build today by shopping for hardware and lumber. Here is a picture of the truck with our Foreman.

Decking

Postby MUhunters » Tue Jun 15, 2010 7:12 am

We have placed PVC decking as our under lay within the frame. Thanks to a good friend we got a great price, otherwise it would not have been done. The decking was toongue and grooved together. You can can spray a garden hose from underneathe and it does not go through.

End of Day One

Postby MUhunters » Tue Jun 15, 2010 7:20 am

End of Day One: Heat index probably around 95. We framed the floor and it is bolted to the frame. Tomorrow with lay the flooring and start cutting on the walls. We are waiting in the windows, so we may have to slow down.

them 2x4's notched like that kind of makes me nervous. I understand that you had to notch it. If it was mine I would add a doubler in that area.

I understand your concern, however, if the top floor is screwed into the frame it really dows spread and neutralise the energy to a large extent. (not that I am an engineer, just guessing)

Good progress there guys.

Like the idea of the T&G undeerfloor.

My trailer has 6mm ply only with a zillion coats of underseal. Keeping fingers crossed it works out in bad weather.
Greetings from England.

Rian.

Hoping to get it all done in time.

Flooring

Postby MUhunters » Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:15 pm

The flooring is complete at the end of Day 2. With 3 inches on insulation under the floor, I think we could sleep on it during the cold November days of Northern Missouri.

First wall

Postby MUhunters » Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:18 pm

First wall in sections. Tough challenge because our walls are 5ft 6 inches.

Wall 2

Postby MUhunters » Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:22 pm

Here is the second wall being cut for wheel well. End of third day of building. We go slow and talk a lot of construction through before we proceed. Our little Foreman somethings gets a bored with us but he would not allow us to make mistakes either.
