I laid the door against the ply (did it while the wall was off the trailer so laid flat) and traced with a pencil, then cut generously to the inside of the line. I had quite a bit of saning to do to get the door to go into the opening, but fit is very tight.

I thought you were going to use the "S" word. Was trying to avoid sanding

Paul, I took your advice and cut small and sanded and sanded and sanded. Came out well though. Thanks. Door is in. Also received the roof vent.

Did not get a lot done yesterday. I did get some more framing in for the shelving and beefed up the door area. My epoxy arrived yesterday. Also purchased a 5000btu air conditioner from lowes.

Im looking at putting a small refrigerator in the back. I have looked at the 1.7 and 2.7 black and deckers. Any input on these? 1.7 big enough? I should add we pretty much only camp at sites with electricity. Getting tired of the daily ice runs.

Got a lot done over the long weekend. First got the hatch installed. I am hinging it from the side.

Installed the A/C. I built a box to rout the exhaust through the floor. I saw someone on here do this. I ran it overnight and it seemed to work great. Galley area did not warm up at all.

Image

I went with 1.7 cu fridge. Good thing any larger and it would not have fit. I put a layer of insulation and installed it over the a/c. I left a good 5 inches behind and 2 to the side. It seems to be getting good circulation.

Picking up some paint on the way home for the inside. Starting the epoxy soon. Goal is to be campable by the end of August for a trip to Yellowstone. Although, i would like to have a few shake down trips before then.

Started epoxying the outside. Lots of sanding. I am on the fourth coat. I bought a three gallon kit and have not used half of it yet. Should get about 8 coats on it.

You're rockin' on this build Carl. Cool to watch, it's like Mike designed it for. Inspiring to see it rolling so fast

Got 7 coats of epoxy on it now. Need to buy some stock in a sandpaper company.

Finishing up the Galley area. I built a cupboard area with door on top. A Drawer under it for utensils. and a small shelf underneath for plates and bowls. Still have plenty of room underneath for coffee maker and a grill.

Finally finished!

Postby Carl01234 » Mon Aug 09, 2010 9:07 am

Got all of the little stuff completed the last couple of weeks. My wife and I made our first trip to Celina, TN about 140 miles. The trailer pulled great. Could not even tell it was back there. Got lots of curious visitors. Even had one couple bribe us with a cobbler to get a look. Thanks mike for a great plan. Took me about 6 weeks working off and on. Slept like a baby. We ended up using 4" of foam topped with a 4" memory foam mattress from walmart.

All set up
