Thanks a lot.

Showed Mr Buzz to Nicola earlier, she loves him.

She also "banned" me from getting any hi-tech other than simple radio or music.

Anyway, I will still try get something clever sorted, as she usually agrees with what I do... even if just to fool me into a false sense of security. 8)
Greetings from England.

Rian.

Hoping to get it all done in time.

Here is a pic of the paint I used. I used the little foam rollers to apply it. It smelt just awful going on!

I added the bumper at last. I used the same hard oak that I got from that hand rail renovation at work. I coated it with 5 layers of Minnwax spar urethane, sanding between coats. I used stainless steel carrage bolts to attach it to the trailer frame.

I thought about using gas shocks for the hatch supports but decided to use what I had on hand. Again I used more of the hard oak I had around. I used little brass hinges to attach them to the galley walls.

I use 1/4" hitch pins to secure the props to the hatch.

A full view.

The supports fold down and overlap one another when not in use. Thus I mounted one hinge about 3/4" higher on one side.

It's not as convenient as gas shocks but it's not hard to use at all and the oak wood matches everything. Works for me! :R

I like the props! I am a big fan of keeping things simple. Nice looking, and serves the purpose well!
