Looks Great Bob! You are a visionary...I envy people who look at the discarded stuff and see the potential in it! Hopefully one day as my wood working skills get better I can start seeing things that way.

Bob,

The leg on that side table is genius. Light weight and height adjustable. Never would have thought to use a crutch. Perfect.

Mounting was super simple . I cut just above the hand grip. I even reused the bolt that originally went thru the handle .

Bob that trailer looks camp-able to me. Have you spent the night in it yet?

WELLLLL.........

I go 320# the wife is on the wrong side of 250# and test fitting was a bit snug

We are still contemplating taking it to the Indiana Tearjerkers Fall Gathering 10/14/11.

It is for sale for $900.00 right now and I have had a couple local nibbles.

We are just plain spoiled with Chubby (my lexan roofed teardrop) it sleeps better than our own bed and is big and roomy and she loves the flip out kitchen. I mentioned selling him next year and got both ears chewed off to the skull. It was made very clear Chubby was part of the family and would remain so.

I have to give credit where credit is due. I stole
this idea from Prohandyman (Dan) . He had used
a wooden one for his extend
out table on the lodge. The aluminum one ARE
a bit nicer as you simply push the buttons in and
adjust the height to level. No tools and
no disassembly as you have to do with the
old style wooden ones.

Well, Prohandyman is a genius. (just look at his work) Makes sense. You are still smart for using the idea. :)

You said this: "... it sleeps better than our own bed"

Man, I know what you mean. We just threw a futon mattress in our TTT for our first campout just to try it. I just left the bed in there until I can jump back on the interior work. My wife and I decided to campout in the driveway this weekend just for fun. We slept so well, again, we stayed out there both nights.

She's an insomniac, but sleeps better in the stupid camper than in our own house. She says it's the cozyness of the thing. She said if we had a toilet in the TTT, she'd move out there.

Well the monday morning update is without pics. The camera is on the counter at home with my lunch :?

I am one tube of silicone and one window away from having the outside completely weatherproof.

Sunday was the big day this weekend for work. I spent saturday shopping for supplies and running errands.

Sunday at 8AM I was out the door and using my new sanding disc to shape the bottom "L" shaped trim pieces to fit the front and rear curve. I removed the center strip that was simply screwed down and sealed the edges with 100% clear silicone and reinstalled the 28 rosettes and screws.
I had split an aluminum trim strip from a storm door and cut it to fit front and rear. I had to use the heat gun to get the frp to make the sharp curve in the rear. The aluminum strips were screwed into the floor halo trapping the frp under it.

This whole list doesn't sound very impressive as I read it, but it was a good solid 5 hours of work!

I did drag out the scales and got the final weight of 525 pounds with bed and bedding installed. Tongue weight at level was 65 pounds. Thats a little over 12% tongue weight over total weight. I think one more good day of work and we are campable.

Wow Bob, that's pretty good! After you get all of your tools out of it, it should be a lot lighter yet.

Keep up the good work my friend.

I have to work that weekend :x (Fort Vallonia Days Festival http://www.fortvalloniadays.com/) or else I was planning on it. Any word on a Shiveree date or location? Gonna take a day off this week & go by the al for the skin. Apex trailer has 103" wide aluminum for around $13 a running foot, only gonna need about 20'. Still gonna hurt though. They also have the FRP on a roll for like $12 a running foot (102.5" wide) When I go down there I'm gonna check out the laminated panels they have as well - frp & ply laminate in different thicknesses. Would be nice to have a wall that was already covered when you install it.
