Most of the time I will be camping alone. I'm more concerned about joining the aluminum sheets to cover the 5' width than anything else. I'll have to talk this through with my brother when we get a chance to sit down face to face.

Thx for bringing this thread up - saved me a bunch of searching. Bringing a projector home from work this weekend to help with drawing the template for my sides and this profile is the winner in my book :D
Have Fun!!!

There are lots of places that sell aluminum in 5' widths. You can get big rolls from truck/trailer repair places and some sign companies. I wanted painted aluminum and was only able to find it in 4 ft widths. But they made the seams for me so 1 got one long 20ft piece with 4 seams, that were factory made. I just made sure my hatch was less then 4 ft so no seam fell in the hatch area. I will see if I have a seam picture.

If you look about a foot above the frame in the front you will see a factory seen. I will be hidden by the tongue box.

This thread is so impressive but when I see the amazing things you did, it sort of depresses me because I don't have the tools or the knowledge to do the things that you've done! Wow! But I'll learn what I can from it...great job!

I just realized I never put up pictures of the finished product.

Steve, just wanted to say this is one of my favorite builds to have watched. This trailer is just flat out awesome in my eyes, really love the proportions and size, not to mention the finish. When it goes on the market someone is going to be a VERY happy camper! 8)

It just went up for sale, so I will not bring it to Crossroads Becky. But If it has not sold by then a friend will bring it since they just sold their trailer. I'll get it in the for sale section soon. I need to make room so I can make another one. I really enjoy the build process.

Thanks to all for the compliments and following my build.

Woodbutcher (I think you should be called WoodCrafter),
This link is one of the first build series that I followed before joining T&TTT. Your attention to detail and forthought applied to your build is commendable. I have drifted back to this thread several times over the last couple of years and enjoy re-reading it. Your build incorporated many good wood building techniques from router use to pocket hole screws.

I just wanted to jump in and say thank you for all the pics and ideas we readers can apply to any build we may be working on, from galley to major wall construction ... Great job of building and documenting your progress and techniques ... AND the finished project is, as others have stated, beautiful :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:
Happy Camping & Building,
John (JC)

WOW , thanks for the compliments John. I was surprised to see this thread surface again. I followed builds by others when I built my first Teardrop and we can always learn from another how to tackle a problem. One of the things that impresses me about this board is how helpful complete strangers can be to each other. People helped answer my questions and the least I could do is share what I learned along the way.
