Did Doug say something about Bright?

Postby Gage » Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:35 pm

 Picked up my curtain fabric and marmoleum flooring for the Field and Stream the other day. And boy is the fabric bright. But that's the way it was in the 60's. What do you think?

The fabric. To bright?

POIFECT!!!! That's some killer fabric Gage!....it'll be great in that trailer...Bright colors really pick up a smaller trailer interior and make it not so closed in + it's great for the era! Is it in regular cotton or in home deco stuff? Good job and a great choice, love the Coral! Doug

Groovy! 8) I love the design on the fabric, and am jealous of the marmoleum. No one around here sells it except by special order in big rolls, so I had to settle for a vinyl remnant. The $10 price tag helped me get over my disappointment.

I would say it's home deco stuff. It's Barkcloth, very heavy and very pricy. You should know, when you find something you like, it'll most likely cost you an arm and a leg. .... ;)

Lil, that marmoleum had to be special ordered from the factory in Italy. There was none to be had here in the states. Had to order a min of 3 yards which is way to much but who knows. Took a month and a half to get it.

That print design on the fabric is cool; it's real mid-century stuff. I like it! and that particular marmoleum is unique; I've never seen a pattern and colors quite like it.

Looking forward to seeing this trailer.

Ay! Mis ojos! It's period perfect for the 60s though. I could get used to it. 8)

Gage I like the fabric. It's definitely period appropriate. What's fun is that you can break up all the coral if you like by using either the lime or the turquoise thats in the pattern as an accent color for other things like curtain tie backs, or placemats in a solid lime or turquoise trimmed with the coral print if you have scraps, etc, etc. I think it's going to off set your counters perfectly. Can't wait to see the finished project.

Wow that is so mid century. It screams for resin grapes and sunburst clock. I have a turquoise molded scoop chair sitting in my office right now, vintage 60's that came with the gig, that would so go with that. Too bright? no such thing.  8)

I wish I knew you were haveing trouble getting your floor. We have a Marmoleum distributor in Seattle that stock that color. They stock about 2/3 of the colors & they have no min cut size, just a min. $$.

I like it, Gage. Think you made some real good choices there.

And I can swear that I've seen ceramic tile lately that looked just like your Marmoleum. I guess everything old is new again. :)
