Doors

Postby halo1 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:58 pm

So i figured out how to get the curve in my doors, First I made 3/8 to 1/2 inch cuts in the key areas to bend. I used clamps to hold the piece in place
with a bead of liquid nails under it.

Then after using a finish nailer to nail it down I filled the slits with liquid nails.

Then after that I put in the fram work and insulation.

and now for the the inter skin! Woo hoo

I still have some Bracing to do but figured i would let this set and cure for a week and get back at it this weekend.

Put the doors on and have them swinging perfict with a little trimming and
sanding. Just so you know the plastic living hinge works awsome!!. If you notice I flopped the door outside pieces on accident but they are pretty much the same so it didnt matter to much. I put my shore power plug in
Wow it looks like a camp trailer!! Cant imagine its only been a few months or so when I started!!

Now I have to pick out some latches any Ideas?

Nice build it hasn't been very long since you started
it takes a lot of common sense to solve what ever problems pop-up
you and your family will be camping soon.

Postby halo1 » Wed May 04, 2011 2:17 pm

So I picked up my 1" T-Molding for the doors and hatch. Its 6063-T aluminum which is a little softer that other stuff I used, im going to try and bend some this weekend. I have read a few things people had tried. Any suggestions or knowledge on the matter?
