Thanks David,

The gas mileage is not as good as I thought. I get about 18 MPG. I live in the Ozarks and it is pretty hilly around here. I did get about 20 out in Kansas. I think I would probably weigh in between 1000-1200 lbs. Just too scared to actually find out. Talked to another member at a gathering who claimed he got about 24 MPG and his looked a little heavier than mine.

What a great build! Great to see the whole thing from start to finish. I bet it's super fun to take camping. If I ever get done with my current project I'd sure like to tackle one of these units. Maybe someday!
Good job

Thanks for the compliment.
It was a lot of fun to build and the wife and boy enjoy camping as much as I do.

Tom your description of your self "I am an experienced carpenter and a helicopter structural repairman retired from the Army"
then to see the pictures of you putting the trailer together you look much younger than I thought............
great job on build, I am constantly amazed at the level of workmanship that some people have that which seems to have skipped me completely.

Thanks Pete,

That young man is #3 son. Mid-life crisis you might say. Well worth it.

Tom,

Great looking trailer! The cedar is real nice as well as the cabinet door detail.

What type of hinge did you use on your hatch? Is that one of those flexible (Teflon/plastic) hinges?

Nice job! :applause:
