Vanq,

Sometimes these "warp speed" builds are hard to follow. I'm on a little slower pace - coming up on month #35 of my build.

I like your design (and like you I'm in the graph paper form of design.) To keep things simple, I'd stay with the 8" tires and wheels. These can be upgraded later. As far as the roof vent, $189 is way to much for a non-powered vent. You can purchase a Fantastic Fan vent fan for that much. I'd just frame in and run electrical for one now and add it later. (The standard size is 14" x 14". The rough opening should be at least 1/4" larger - I did 1/2" larger - to allow for the wiring.)

Another thought. Some that visit your build thread may not understand the "reserved" pages. You may want to delete the "reserved" pages, and add extra pages as you complete the next phase.

Good luck and "may the force be with you."

i've been checking it out too, but agree with tom on the 'reserved' thing... it's simpler to follow when people's comments are referring to the post directly above rather than pages back.

good luck with the build though... that deadline is coming quick! :hammer:

Vanq,

For teardrop hardware supplies, etc, you can look at the top of the screen and click on sdtripper2's Index or go here to find much of what you need or are looking for:

The reserved thing is a personal preference- I'm too lazy to build a first post index to organize the thread, and its a pet peeve of mine trying to follow what happened across several pages without a guide.

As to if I'm on track or not- no clue, this is the first one I've built. I'd estimate I've consumed about 20% of my time, but I have no Idea if what I've done represents 20% of the way to completion. The next 2 days will be interesting as they are my only full days off before the deadline.

I do however have that deadline looming feeling so I went ahead and had my wife stain the good side of several sheets today to hopefully save some finishing work later. Also the weather looks decent this week-end so I should be able to expand into the great out doors which will help in not having to wait while stuff is drying.

Roof vent is solved, I went back and bought the 9x9 I found in the discount bin.. about $30 after tax

We are watching.. Well, you got the trailer at the right price, I just scored on a HF 90153 trailer for 150 bucks..That 180 dollar roof vent you saw was way overpriced..You did well to go with the 9x9...You asked about other methods of ventilation, I am getting ready to do something new with louvered soffit vents(cheap primed white with screens for $1.65 each at the box store)...Pix will be posted soon on my "78 tear thread" Ventilation is a big thing, since these little rv's are pretty airtight.Standard piano hinges work well for doors and hatch...*TIP(use rubber gasket cut from old bike inner tube, goes under piano hatch hinge).cam cylinder locks can be found for under 10 bucks at box store...keep making sawdust...Danny

Good thing we have picture junkies, cause I'm too busy to explain as I go. I'll upload pics of the progress at random intervals as I build. Just waiting for the PL Premium to set up enough on the rear bulkheads so I can move forwards.

Hey, everybody: If you want to see a full screen slide show of what
Vanq is doing, look here:

Vanq, I loved the shot of you and your wife, laying on the deck. It's good that you've been able to occasionally get a little help on your 10 day project. I'm guessing that the older fellow is your dad and the other guy is your best friend and/or brother?

Good luck with your project and thanks for sharing. :applause:
