Okay. By this time, it is July. Moby has a date for a big trip on July 26, so we better get movin'!

LET'S PUT ON THE ALUMINUM SKIN!!!
Image

My friend, Bob, is here to help:
Image

Few hours later, we were done!
Image

Then I skinned the hatch:
Image

And popped in (well, it wasn't really that easy) the tail lights:
Image

Cutting the hole in the roof for the fan took most of my courage for the day:
Image

But it worked out fine:
Image

Let's hang the doors!

Since we'd done that on the workbench with the walls were still flat, that went pretty smoothly:
Image

My friend of the last 4 years, 14 year-old Keith, helped with the doors and latches, and lots of other stuff that day:
Image

We fixed the cabin cabinet doors so they double as laptop shelves for working or watching DVD's:
Image
Also, note how neat the electrical stuff has gotten. Plus, the Inverter/battery digital readout.

Getting closer, getting closer!!!

Bob donated another day and helped me with the hurricane hinge:
Image
He's in Florida half the year, so he has experience with hurricanes!

And I found time to get the galley in shape:
Image

And we got the fenders on:
Image

The RV molding in on between the aluminum roof and the fiberglass sides, and this baby is looking good, I think.

My "to-do" list is getting pretty short. My license plate is on, and the insurance policy was effective yesterday. Going to be time for a little drive soon!

best...
Ken

Cherry with maple trim in the cabin. Maple with Cherry Trim in the Galley -- but willing to take more shortcuts with maple ply in the galley.

Thanks for the compliments.

this is turning into a real nice build, but a question. How do you bend the aluminum molding over the top,you know the trim that covers where you nailed down the aluminum skin.

That was my question, exactly, to Grant Whipp at Lil' Bear, where I bought the RV Trim molding. But it bend down nicely to the requirments of a teardrop. Screws every 3 inches and 3" at a time it bend right down -- with RV putty tape underneath. Took only a couple of hours for the whole tear! Last 5 inches where there's no long metal to pull down is a little tricker (as it was on the front of my tear), but I just use brute force and a couple of longer 1.75" screws to help me out and it worked fine.

Thanks for looking.

Wow! You've definitely grabbed and kept my interest in your build! I love the craftsmanship and I hope I can steal some of your ideas for when I get started. The interior/galley setup especially!! Mine might take longer as I'll be dealing with the winter here in RI and without heat...if I ever get this thing rolling.
