Hi Chris:

I like the finishing touches.

I dream of the day where the word, " Interest " , on all loans and investments, ( savings accounts to every fractured mutual fund in existence ), was universally, ( planet wide at least ) considered a criminal offense.

Punishment: lifetime incarceration or the death penalty was the automatic sentence.

Monetary reform could be soooo simple.
Apply only the following costs to money:
1) Actual minting or manufacture of money
2) Bank account fees . . . realize there would be only savings accounts
and loan / mortgage accounts
3) Service to debt ratio would apply directly to how much the individual's income
was . . . so we all couldn't go out and borrow 20 million dollars or some
Stupidly higher number.

We are dammed if we do and dammed if we don't.

I have read many of your previous posts and many of us know that: “still waters run deep ".

John Lennon’s song . . . “Let it be " Just my personal thoughts. I do not wish to stir up a big conflict or debate.

Vicky, ( wife), and I are having a great summer:

1) new hardwood floor in our living room
2) moved into a new shop space which you will see I have cleaned and painted, " I will post more pictures in, " The
Round About Build " . I am so happy with it being in a quite residential nieghbourhood surrounded by old trees all around
it. Can't get enough of the sounds of birds. Concrete block building with
12 ' HIGH ceiling. It is the perfect size with INSIDE DIMENSIONS: 24' 6" deep by 31' 6" wide and has two big sliding barn
doors along the front 31 ' 6" side. Has 220 to run my tools. I love that I can lift 1000 # by myself with the use of, “a
Chain fall or what is called a Come-along” . It has steal rafters on basically a flat roof which I can hook on a chain fall
Anywhere inside the shop area.

To answer your question on what to charge for your trailer if you were to sell it . . . I struggle with that one on my own build.

It never matters how much something is listed at but what someone will to pay you for it. You have many hours of work into it . . . How about listing it for 28K ? Your pictures are all good but an in person lQQk at it is sooo much different and gives a different impression so I could be low on the figure above. It does have E-Brakes right? What is the dry weight and what is a good wet weight that it handles on long trips?

Peace and happiness to all,

:D

I have no idea about such things as pricing, right now. I've been building on a shoe string. This is basically my prototype, one to build others from, and of course my own personal trailer. I have asked around trying to get a worth to insure it for. No help because it is not a manufactured model with a starting worth and a straight replacement worth. It's not like I've logged every minute of my time, although the picture documentary does show a lot. Quality of workmanship. Time for a professional to build such a thing (replacement worth) and you are a professional RV tech, no? Mostly I get that I have to get it appraised by a specialty insurance company who does that sort of thing. (In most cases I hear "boost that some," as in shipping, insure for twice its value, so you have some margin to ensure to get its worth in replacement. ) So an insurer to appraise it could give you a ball park figure, then based on what he says, boost the sell price. And of course price the major pieces and compare a trailer that has those features and size for value.

I also had the tounge rebilt with 4 x 3 box tied back to just ahead of the spring hangers, and upgraded to a 7000lb buldog coupler, and mounted a tire carrier to tounge for the spare

Re: FX Sport, Has landed

The final updates before the big trip
Had a new tongue made for the trailer, tied back just ahead of the axel
Used 3" x 4" tube and had a 7000lb Bulldog 2" coupler welded on

Image

Once this was done I was able to mount the fold down tire carrier and Break away switch

With having a black water tank I needed to carry a sewer hose, not much storage so I made a storage tube hose carrier,
Had to mount on the back for now, had a roll of reflect tape so I figured that would be a good use

Image

I had patiently been waiting for salvage on a black, charcole or flint awning.
Finally 3 weeks before we left I had to replace a storm damaged charcole awning.
It took some serious re-engineering of the awning to make it work because of the low sidewall hieght.
Had to shorten every section of the telescoping arms to make it work, shortening for length is the easy part.
At under 8 feet its small, but will provide some shade or a spot out the the rain for the BBQ.

Out of need and lack of space for a gas can, I rigged up a storage pod on the back for a 5 gal jerry can, Wasn't sure if it would hold for almost 4000 miles, but it worked great.

Image

Still a few things I want to do, and already started gathering...lol
Scored an almost new hitch utility rack from the new job.

Image

Going to figure a way to mount it on the back of the trailer as a rack / entry platform and ramp
Still looking for a window for the roadside and who knows what else.
The FX will only ever be almost done :)
And now that I'm in Alberta, Might actually get to camp in her,
So far We've slept in it a 20 degrees below zero, and were toasty warm

Well got her inside and all cleaned up from the trip, also I had froze the water system on the trip, got her all thawed out and antifreeze pumped through, no busted pipes or fixtures so all good there.
Think I have the ramped platform figured out for the back, had it set up on axel stands today, should work out great, going to mount a frame mount hitch on the trailer i think, then it will just plug into the receiver as it is with no mods to it.
Latest score is a power awning we replaced this week under insurance.
Charcole like the one on it.
So its going to go on roadside of trailer.
This will allow me to have shelter on both sides for a total open width of 23 feet.
Now we can curtain in the shower area and have privacy for showering...Whoo hoo say the neigbores
I will also be able to pull a tarp from awning to awning across the back of the roof and have 24' x 8' tarped at the back providing 8' of sheltered area on three sides
This is the plan

Image

Looks kinda silly from the mezane lined up with the big guys

Image

Little bit of pitting on the aluminum from road debris and salt but she fared her 4000 mile winter maiden voyage

Image

Image

Gonna take some polishing to try and bring the aluminum back up to a shine
And a couple more parts and I can convert the existing manual awning to a powered one, Pull in to camp, hit the switches and she will open up 23' wide....More time for beer, less time for set up.
And my new insurance broker here looked at it and upped the insurance coverage to full replacement value of $12,000, how cool is that?
