Thanks everyone! The Torpedo' s maiden voyage is under way. I pulled it about 140 miles up to the NC mountains near Lake Lure and it towed like a dream; no sway, no problems with wind or passing trucks, it just cut right through. I'm all set up and ready to cook my first meal in the galley. When I find my camera, I take a picture.

It was a good first run. There are only two items on my improvements list:
1) my modified garage door locks stick a little bit and need some fine tuning
2) I need to pack a larger coffee cup.

The most animated reaction that I got came from a passing F-350 pulling a 36ft fifth wheel, and at the campground, the placemats that my wife picked out as window treatments were a big hit.

Teardroppin' is a lot of fun, we're going to enjoy it and hope to see you down the road.

Torpedo - build complete - update

Postby Irmo Atomics » Thu Apr 30, 2015 4:16 am

We've taken the Torpedo out several times this month; once to Hunting Island, SC and once to Tybee Island, GA.
We had a great time and most people loved the teardrop. We did get a few "you sleep in that thing?" and "I thought it was a storage trailer."
After a quick tour, they were usually converted.

Looks like the kids get the standing height camper. How did that happen?
