90: Stainless Steel Micro-Airstream behind motorcycle

The door - a difficult task !

Bending a tube by hand is no problem - but bending a tube exactly like another - that was no fun !

Yesterday I started with the piano hinge and the upper frame tube and then bent the two gullwing tubes :x

But after two hours they matched the box shape and I could rivet all together with stainless angles.

Going to be a true spectacle when its done, are you going to use a hydraulic strut so it can hold in the upright position? Or something more ingenious ?
Keep up the awesome work, you will be camping soon I think :relaxing:
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Hope to find a hydraulic strut matching the weight !

Before giving the door a skin I installed today the first two windows and the marker lights to give the trailer a face.

Drilling the plexiglas was easy, but to work careful needs much time !

And fastening the nylon safety nuts on the short bolts needs longer arms than I've got.

For the other windows I need a helping hand.

Today I started installing the Opel Rekord taillights which I converted to LEDs.

And then I fitted the plexiglass roof window between the frame tubes and drilled all the holes for the 4 mm stainless bolts.

Then sealed it with sikaflex and fastened the 42 nuts and bolts around the skyview.

Yesterday and today I installed the windows in the sidewalls with a little help from outside.

Image

Then I made a frame from plastic tube for my roof vent, because my roof skin ist too skinny to fill the space between inner and outer frame.

Image

and glued the vent in with sikaflex and connected the frames with screws.

This is the view from my pillow skywards.

After finishing the windows the door frame was my next task.

To get my door waterproof I had to add two stripes from aluminum to get space for a self adhesive rubber door seal and a inner frame where the door can fit inside.

The spacer is 20 x 2 mm and the inner frame is 30 x 2 mm.

A lot of drilling, clamping and finally sealing with sikaflex and riveting the first part.
