Thanks Drew. I was also wondering if you had a gap at the edges of the aluminum on the top or was it a little wider than 5 ft?. I was wondering because your side walls overlap the NT trailer frame and I know that it is 5" wide. I did not see an easy way to make the trailer less wide so I was wondering it the Aluminum is just close enough and the trim takes care of the rest?

Yep - you got it! Hitchhikers Guide. I have been mulling over the idea of putting some sort of logo on it.

The aluminum is exactly 5' wide. My exterior ended up being about 5' 5/8" so I had a small gap. The trim I used is about 7/8" and covered it easily. the 5' x 12' piece easily covered the entire front with some left over for the tongue box. I also used the wide butyl tape that Frank Bear at Vintage Tech sells. I hear you can get it at RV places too. I think it is MUCH easier to deal with than Silicone and seems to spread and seal very well.

I finished the lid to the tongue box. Not happy with the way it fits, don't think it is going to seal very well. Ah well, I'll redo it later.

Thanks for the complements! I am pretty happy with the way it has turned out and will eventually stop obsessing about all the mistakes and extra holes! I am pretty much done, there are a couple minor things do tidy up but I could drive it off tomorrow and go camping. Hmmm, like others have mentioned, kind of sad to be done in a way . . . (oh, crap, I keep forgetting about the fenders :? )

One thing I have learned from this project and through this forum. I could do alot of things I never thought I could. Just take your time and plan ahead. Take it one task at a time and really think through the steps before you do them. Read the build journals! such a big help. There are some amazing and detailed projects on this site and really good suggestions and information.

If I can do it, I am sure you can too!

It's got a really nice and unique look! The black on aluminum/silver really does it for me. Very elegant and classic hot rod elements to it.

Thanks KC - i am going to go with the fenders from Teardroptrailers.net - Black of course!

you can get a pin that fits tight in the holes for the hitch and the noise should go away and make sure the hitch is on the ball tight there might be a adjustment nut under the tounge on trailer tighten it tell it fits good and snug.

I bought one of the locking pins. It fits very snug. Together with a bit more tongue weight, it no longer bangs around and tows easily.
