So, instead of tailgating, you will be trailergating.

Tonight I got the headliner fixed in placed with PL Premium construction adhesive. I then used come-along straps to hold it firmly in place while the adhesive cures. Ryan's method outlined in Wyoming Woody build thread worked beautifully!

Here are some Pictures of the headliner being held in place!

I got my rafters put in this week. I put them all installed and used the come-along straps to hold them in place. I did not have as many interior supports as Ryan had int he Wyoming Woody build but I was able to get the rafters in tight to the headliner. I did hit one snag and that was with the trim ring on my stargazer window. It was for a thicker wall than what I had installed so I had to wait to install the rafters for the window. :(

Once I confirmed that I could get a new trim ring of the correct thickness I went ahead and installed the two remaining rafters. Instead of supporting from the inside I cut holes with a hole saw where my window was going. I was able to get the head of a clamp through the hole and then clamped the headliner to the rafter. I wish I had thought of that when installing the rafters for the roof vent! :D

Here are a couple of pictures showing the clamping through the holes.

Next up: trimming the window and vent opening and then starting electrical.

I can't quite put my finger on it but something about this seems familiar... Great job!

I like the layout in the back with the speakers, and the TV space up front! Also, you wouldn't believe the amount of sound boost you get from having the wood surfaces when playing music in the galley. We throw a bluetooth speaker up on the top shelf and the sound get projected quite a ways.

As soon as the headliner was on it seemed like it finally looked more like a teardrop trailer and less like a pile of wood, it is all downhill to completion from here! Looks like you will have this thing ready for football season next year, or maybe this year depending on how the A&M post season works out!

Cheers,
Ryan

Thank you very much Ryan; I appreciate the kind words and encouragement!

Made a little progress this weekend! I was able to get the blocking in for the vent and Stargazer window! This window is 6" longer but 3 inches narrower than Ryan's window in the Wyoming Woody build. I used the same technique for the curved corners that Ryan used and it worked great. Here is a picture from the outside with the window and vent in place. I used a 2x4 for the corner blocking and used the aluminum trim piece to get the correct curves in the corner.

Here are a few pics of the inside showing the window and vent (without the trim in place). If you look close you can see the 2x4 corned corner blocking.

Until my next post! after all it is October!

I really stopped posting on my trailer progress but here is a few pics from last weeks trip to the Rio Costilla in northern NM. Did a lot of trout fishing on this trip.

Beautiful teardrop Wits! The camping area looks fantastic! :applause: :applause: :applause:

What's an Aggie doing living in t-sip land? I need to go back through your build journal. Somehow I missed out on the progress of your construction.

(BTW - the "79" part of my forum name is for class of 1979.")

Gig'em  ,

Amazing pics and congratulations on the fantastic build!  It feels great getting it out in the wild and enjoying all your hard work! I hope the fishing turned out nearly as well!

How did the inside of the cabin turn out? I'd love to see some more pics and if you don't mind, post it on my blog of finished Woody teardrop builds.

Cheers,
Ryan
