After adding ¾" walls, aluminum skin and diamond plate, I am left with only ½" clearance between the tire and wall.
Image

To fix this I put on 1" wheel spacers over the existing hub.
Image

Now I have 1½" clearance.

Getting really close now.

Thanks Dale, I came up with the plans by looking through all the great builds here, then picking out the elements I like and incorporating them into my plans. I can't tell you how many times I changed things as time went by.

Bass, thanks. I ordered the spacers through Amazon.

I spent the weekend trying to trouble shoot problems with my running lights. Looks like it's in the hatch. I think I may have planted a screw right through the wires to the license plate holder. Oh well I guess I can sacrifice that lighting up.

Just make sure that your license plate light doesn't have to be lit for registration purposes/inspection. It was on the list of things that my trailer had to have for NYS, but we are a stringent state... Sorry to hear that though. There were a couple times that we placed screws and then said "I hope I didn't hit that wire. I forgot it was there." Luckily everything worked in the end and for inspection. :) Looking great!

This is what I like about reading through all of the different TD builds. Your build is completely different from mine, but yet I like it.. A LOT!. Great work and attention to details. I like that you have gone very "stock"on some things, like the wheels and fenders, but yet they fit perfect with the overall design of things.

The diamond plate too, on the rims and around the bottom/front. Looks great, and I think it will serve a very utilitarian purpose as well to keep things protected. Gives it a very custom look.  :applause:

Keep it up! You will be camping soon!

Lauren,

I checked Louisiana law to see what it says about a license plate light. Here's what I found:

Louisiana Revised Statue 32:304
(C) Either a tail lamp or a separate lamp shall be so constructed and placed as to illuminate with a white light the rear registration plate and render it clearly legible from a distance of fifty feet to the rear. Any tail lamp or tail lamps, together with any separate lamp for illuminating the rear registration plate, shall be so wired as to be lighted whenever the head lamps or auxiliary driving lamps are lighted.

I guess I have more work to do :FNP

Yeah, but hopefully just a little bit of work. We did that a lot on my build.... the wrong hinge was sent for my galley so we had to make adjustments and be creative so the hatch would fit. I don't think anyone's build has actually gone as planned! :?

The Galley. Thanks to all those who posted pics of their galley.. I went through hundreds of pics to come up with the design elements I wanted in mine. It really helped to see all the others.
