Pouring rain here today. Was hoping to skin the beast this morning and get all of the lights set. Rear door works like a dream ( I was surprised)

well, it is a cool day with light sprinkles and I have found that I hate the adhesive that they rec commend for FRP. Takes forever to get it to stick except in your hair , on your hands , and on your clothes. Sheesh. ( I know- you are not supposed to get it on your hands or clothes but trying to man handle a 4x8 sheet of frp into the end trim and around wheel wells is pretty darn hard by yourself)

The "skin is on and the back door is wrapped in FRP, just making sure the locking mechanism works before I hide it. The RV door was shorted to 35 inches and the latch arrived and was installed. Now to try and fit it back on the trailer. My father left me a trailer dolly that he used in American Airlines shop work. It works well at moving the trailer here and there instead of hooking it up to my car all the time. simple leverage and it rolls easy.

Going to use a 3 inch inline fan to (102.59 CFM ) keep the interior cool. A dryer vent painted black and pointing down should do the trick and since it is 3 ft from the interior sleeping area the noise level should be minimal. The intake is at the front of the trailer at the floor level. This is so i do not have to punch holes in a perfectly sealed roof. Picked one up off e bay for a song and it moves a lot of air.

121498I am not much for cad stuff, just the old scribble on a napkin kind of guy. Picked up a radio, mp3, sd, usb unit for 24.00 on ebay should provide the trailer with a good sound. All digital with remote.

Fabricated the ductwork for the furnace today, holes are cut in interior wall for supply and return. Going the dust off my sewing skills and see if i can still work the singer. need curtains badly and need to make some throw pillows for the soft bed interior. Been looking for a library storage for my sd cards for the stereo. Need to have them avaialable without getting dusty dirty.

I spent a year putting together the top hits of rock and roll from 1956 to 2005 top 100 hits from each year and then full albums from Aerosmith, Santana, beatles, mc5, Paul Revere, beach Boys and many others. Carrying the case with all those cd's is a pain, SD card player should make it much easier. 14,000 songs in all

just doing body work getting ready to pait. Did a test with a garden hose at full pressure before I put up interior paneling, no leaks. Furnace works, exhaust works, running lights and turn signals work. Ran the gas line thru the floor and hooked everything up except the stove. Still have problems with the back door. I will post pics as soonas there is something to see.

A friend of mine stopped by and was checking out the hobbit trailer and said he and his wife started a trailer project 6 years ago. I asked how it was going. He said they gave up last year and the trailer is sitting behind his pole barn. He asked me how long I had been working on mine. I told him a little over a month. He quickly shot back "......k you" "you make me sick, we busted our tail for 6 months straight and got no where" He said I should stop by and check it out so I did. He had a Wells Cargo 5x8 sitting behind his pole barn full of pieces parts and full of wasp nests. He said " if you want it, its yours. We have no use for it, all it does is bring back bad memories. So now I have an additional trailer to play with once I get several of my other projects wrapped up.

He's probably relieved to be rid of it and you will make something great from it.
