We did just a little work last weekend. Did some more filling and sanding. Been raining to much here to take it outside lately. We had a patch of sun today, so we cleared out the last bay to put the trailer in it's final resting place until it's done. Won't have to take it outside anymore! We pulled the trailer off the frame today also. So we will be ready to paint soon. We'll be doing a few mods on the trailer now that it's off.

Boo and Mara work on the trailer last weekend. The got it ready for paint. My son will be doing/welding a few mods on the trailer frame today. We should be painting the trailer tomorrow. I would like to edge out the corners of the trailer with glue on vinyl/rubber. I would like a 90 degree with about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" coverage. Does anybody have any Ideas what to use and where to get it? And last but least, a new paint scheme!

Last prep for paint. Sanding, filling and the final two coats of primer (total of five). I ran a router I borrowed around the edges so I wouldn't have any sharp corners for the paint.

Today my son Genarino, cut off the old stub spindles and welded on the new ones with the brake backing plates. My son has welded on lots of stub spindles and knows how to make them straight. He also welded on the mounts in the four corners of the frame for the stabilizing jacks. He even drill the holes for the jacks first!!!

:applause: Coming along very nicely...kudos to you, Boo and Mara.
Also, congrats on the newest grandchild. The new colors (watery & wavy) are beautiful, and I see that the flip flop theme has grown some new items. Enjoy the build, you can all be proud of your efforts. Most people will never realize that this is a "Budget" build. Way to go!

Thanks Joanie! This is a budget build for sure. I think it will be under $2000. But that's with everything including the napkins!! There is a lot of low cost and some free things in this budget build. It also helps if you can buy wholesale. But if your patient, they will come to you.

Sorry that we have been out of the loop for a while. Everyone has been sick in the family except for me. Thank god, because I'm the oldest! We have pushed forward. So here are some more photos.

Sorry can't seem to post photos today. Is there something wrong with this site today!! I just barely got this to work???????? Can't post photos When I look at my own postings, it's like I'm not logged in. All my photos have water marks. If I look at others. there are fine??

Spoke to soon. I ended up getting really sick for over a week. I'm still shaking it off!!

Anyways, we have done a few things to further the trailer. I'll just show you some photos.

My son Genarino welded on a small receiver hitch to the trailer frame so his sister Boo could add a bike rack.

Genarino also installed the brakes on the axle.

Boo and Mara put a total of around 6 coats of the blue oil based enamel on the body. We decided to roll it on. The first coat was done with a 1/4 nap roller. It left little furry particles in the paint. So that needed to be sanded a bit. Then we went to a very thin foam roller that looked great. But then the nats liked the way it looked and smelt also. There was so many that it looked like we put pepper on it! But in the end it came out pretty smooth. Very happy for a roll job! All the corners will get edging.

You can't even see where the two piece roof went together. Good job by Boo and Mara for spending all that time sanding and filling!!!

Boo's final design!

Boo taped off the trailer today for the stripe and painted the edges of the tape with the blue for no bleed over. She also set up the doors to paint blue tomorrow.

I couldn't see the photos either, just little black boxes with x's in them. Then I logged in to fix it. But as soon I logged in the photos are showing. What did I do wrong?

By using the Quote feature I could see the img coded url's for the images. Those url's return an error message and don't show in your gallery.
