Hi Michael I've been watching your build for a while now and it's AWESOME. I'm the quiet one and don't usually don't say much but I'm thinking of you. When I saw your counter top and the stove you are using is the same one I used in my Teardrop build and after using it I found that I put it to close to my side wall because when I have pan on that burner it deflects to much heat on the side wall. :( I don't know if your counter end with the stove is next to a wall or not but here's a picture of mine.

Just something to check out before you get paint on it. Hang in there I'll be thinking of you.

Thank you Elm and feel free to speak up more often! I was reading the instructions that came with the cooktop and it specified three and a half inches from the sidewall. Luckily in my case there is no sidewall only a fold-down Leaf which should not make any difference. The back wall will be a tile backsplash so I believe no worries there. Nice observation and thank you for your input! And again, feel free to speak up more. Thank you.

Hi Michael,
I am glad to see that you are able to get a bit of time to spend with the Astroliner. After all every little bit you do, no matter how small you think it may be is closer to your goal. I remember the first time I tried playing Golf. I was part way around the course and went to tee off, The club brushed past the ball, the ball fell off the tee and rolled about 4 inches in the direction of the green. One of the guys that was there said, "well it doesn't matter how far it goes, at least it is progress". When I am working on what seems like a never ending project, I usually remember that day, and those words. Besides I came home with a couple of prizes that day, no one got a hole in one but I was the only one that got a hole in two. I also got the prize for the most golf, it took me about twice as many hits as anyone else.
Keep your chin up (we can see it now) and keep chipping away.

Michael,
Your vision of your build becomes the reality! The birch and flakes look beautiful together, so inviting and warm, great ideas and workmanship there! And the angled drawer is very cool.
All the best to you!

So far so good Michael, should know better in a couple months.
At the same time the Lake Huron, Bruce county area is beautiful and now when weather getting warm, it is even nice and warm while it's raining, I forgot that feeling by being in some colder climate for many years.
Sandy and pebble beaches, blue-emerald clear water, lots of birds, maple, cedar, pine trees.... good for camping ;)

I've decided that Chemo and radiation shouldn't stop me. And even though I have to take A LOT of breaks and I'm not as smooth and steady as I once was i I can still do some decent work. So... heres what I've been up to lately.

Remember the mahogany and carbon fiber countertop I built?

Well, I got some paint laid on it! Let me know what you think.
