I am glad you were able to spend some time enjoying it. Making memories is what it is all about.

Before we move on to the Bathroom, here's a couple snaps of the finished Galley Top and the Dinette Top. These are one-off pieces with custom paint and epoxy finish. Carrie has a ton of work in the design and getting the program right for the paint mask. Also, a good friend of ours donated the airbrush work on the Dinette Table.

So now, we are down to the cabinets in the bathroom. Honestly I feel like we saved the worst for last! It was definitely a challenge to work out the angles and curves but in the end it turned out beautifully, if I may say so. One of the things I dislike about today's campers is the stark, plastic, dull look of the bathroom. We made it a point to change all that.

First things first, Carrie went to work on the pattern for the countertop.

Image

We liked the idea of the rounded front but little did we know at the time how difficult it would be to build the cabinets!

Then, piece by piece, we built the rest of the cabinets. Because of angles and limited space, we landed on sliding doors. Plus, I feel like they add to the retro-futuristic look we are going for.

Notice how the front of the cabinet is curved to match the sink. Tricky to say the least!

After a lot of trial and error, fit and finish, putty and paint it's all finished complete with back-lit mirrors.

For now, the build-ins are complete! On to the next, which is plumbing!

Happy Building!

Michael,

You have the talent, imagination and the drive to realise your design ideas.
I can imagine how much effort this kind of work with wood, composites and painting finish and then electrical would take, and therefore I am thoroughly amazed of your work.

Congratulations on the accomplishment. Wish you and yours all the best and happy camping!

Thank you Oleg! Out of everyone here, I've probably got the best chance of meeting you in person someday! I'll head North, you head South and we'll meet up in Michigan for a camping trip! Good luck on the rest of your build

Thank you Brotherman. We've built ours almost side by side . It's been great to have all of you here to cheer me on. Hows the truck? Almost back to camper building?

Hard to find words to say how much I like it...

I am going to have to try to find some tidbit of something in this build to incorporate in mine....

Inspiring.....

Wow! Your work is fantastic!

I remember that rocket pattern from something in my childhood. Maybe TV trays?

Thank you Tom. The thing is, it all feels "familiar" somehow. That's what I love about it...
