No worries hope it works out! I did alot of searching, kept running into the same issues on color, size and availablity. If 3" polished chrome works for you, Vintage Trailer Supply has the best price.

I thought building cabinets was over... but in her sweet Iittle way, Carrie let me know "since you are building anyway, we really need a cabinet in the bathroom for toiletries."

Well, here we go. I really need to learn to cut this stuff with a router because the jigsaw has become a real pain in my neck. Here it is roughed out with a lot of sanding in my future

Doors are forthcoming, no pictures yet but soon.

Just when I thought I was done for awhile...

I got a little more done after taking a break for the weekend. We have a trip planned this coming weekend, and rain or shine I have to get this thing finished!

I got all the pieces & parts sanded and dry fit. Also made a jig and got the doors drilled for the Euro hinges. Here's a few shots of the dry fit prior to finish.

Hey Oleg. I use Lacquer as the base coat. It seals down all the grain and gives it the Amber color I prefer. Then I sand it with 320 and then I spray on the Imron Elite Urethane. Give it a day then sand and buff.

Thanks for the tips Michael. Do you spray lacquer with spray gun? Where did you get Lacquer?

Yes I spray everything. I was originally getting my Lacquer from Sherwin William's at $65 per gal. I found Watco brand at Menards for $22 per gal. I can't tell any difference in the look, smell or way it sprays. I can't speak for the durability because I cover that in Urethane.

Anytime Brotherman. There are people who will tell you, you cannot put automotive clear over lacquer or automotive clear on wood in general. But let me speak from experience when I say I've been doing it successfully with no issue.

And... Done!

Spent the day working out some finishing touches and sanding/buffing/polishing the remaining woodwork for the bathroom cabinet.

Time to put away the tools, do some cleaning and start packing for the weekend! Thank you all for following us and the Astroliner. Almost 5 years in the making, minus summers off to go racing and a year or so fighting cancer. And as it turns out, not too shabby if I say so myself. Ha!

Happy Building my friends...
