For anyone interested, here is a small update on the Astroliner project. There have been several people who have messaged me offering to provide their labor and expertise to help finish the project for us. Although the logistics of that are difficult to figure out, my brother and another friend who is a cabinet builder have been working on the project as time allows. Prior to my diagnosis, we had most of the bathroom walls cut and I had been able to lay down coats of lacquer on each one. They have installed those walls, got the pantry operable, and are in the process of building in the closet and the area around the refrigerator. I certainly appreciate the offer from those of you who want to help! The biggest holdup is, I am no longer able to work due to the chemo and the blood clot that occurred because of the cancer, so funds to buy materials and supplies are non-existent. Therefore, even volunteer labor comes to a halt when you run out of supplies. We are hoping the situation will change eventually, and I am hopeful that I will beat this thing and be able to get back to work maybe in the fall. For those of you who are praying for me, thank you and don't stop. It certainly means a lot. I appreciate all of your well wishes, positive thoughts and of course your prayers. You never know how many people care about you untill something like this happens. I know that I am truly blessed! I appreciate you each and every one.

Michael, as with your beautiful craftsmanship, I am also very impressed with your poise and composure in dealing with and sharing this trying event in your life. I have no idea how I would react if it were me, but I doubt I would be as eloquent.

Hang in there, you and your family continue to be in my thoughts and I will keep sending good vibes your way!

Michael:

I just caught your diagnosis.

I've got a good friend that was dealt the bladder-cancer card. Eventually, they had to remove it and build another one using a chunk of his colon.

He tell's me everything is fine until he feels like he needs to fart. If he let's it go, he pees his pants! But he's figured that out and is back to living a healthy and active life.

A tough deal.

I'll certainly pray for your speedy and full recovery.

I had to watch my daughter go through the tribulations of chemotherapy and radiation a little over a year ago for Hodgkins Lymphoma. A tough time to be sure. I couldn't thank folks enough for their prayers for her.

I also just noticed that you're in Fort Wayne. I grew up in Wabash, and up until 4 years ago worked at the Fort Wayne Airport before transferring to Chattanooga. We make occasional trips up that way to visit friends and family.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. Much appreciated for sure.

Right now I'm in between chemo and feeling pretty good. I go in 15 minute bursts then I'm done for an hour or so. Chemo just kills the stamina. But, I was able to get in some precious camper time and it felt pretty good! I mostly supervised, but the fact that I was there at all was good for the soul. Here's a few pic's of some progress...

Image

The fridge is installed and secured. The drawer is functional and ready for the front. I love that it is an angled drawer that pulls out straight. (Because of the angled wall. Pretty cool.)

The fridge is wired up and working...

Image

The closet is almost ready for Cedar and the bathroom is ready for Birch...

Image

We installed a new light fixture. It really shows off the Amber Birch and the Tangerine Flake ...

Image

Image

One from outside...

Image

Here is a piece of metal art that I've been messing with when I am feeling decent. It will eventually be a wall mounted night light...

Image

Image

I'm a Robot. I'm re-charging...

Image

That's it for now... Thanks again for your support! And KC, Alabama has always been a favorite!

Happy building!
