Theyve been painted with industrial two pack black gloss. 4 coats. Spent all day yesterday sanding them back perfectly flat ready for polising.
They will look insane.
They need to be perfect. They are surrounded by polished sluminium.
They will stand out

Yea im happy. Alot of wet sanding though.
The back part of tbe gaurds are covered in so i concentrated on whats seen.
At the paint shop they had two pieces of aluminium tube about a foot and a half long and about 1/8th wall painted in this stuff.
You could pound them against each other as hard as you like and no chipping or flaking.
They were dented all over the place.
250 australian for 4 liters of paint , including hardner and 4 liters of thinners

Paint has gotten out of hand. The last gallon of red I picked up for the race boats was $600. Not including hardner or reducer

Yea incredibly expensive.
There 2k car paints way more. This just the work horse paint but its tough and has great gloss straight off the gun.
I was just being fussy so knocked it back with 1500 then polished it back up

I buff everything. I don't care how good you are, there's always that random dust speck... or fruit fly!

The polished finish you got there is called "black chrome" around here, because it is like a black mirror. Nice work  !
