The camper is done! First trip was 1300 miles with very little that went wrong. All i needed was a .5 inch wheel spacer as the tires rubbed a little when the suspension was flexed out through some of the sandbars.140777

Looks like it turned out very well, good job sticking with it! Did you get a chance to weight it yet? Congrats.

Thank you. It was 95% finished for like 3 months, we had to plan that rip to make me finish it up. It was 2240 lbs with the mattress and spare tire, otherwise empty.

Most axles are manufactured with some bend up in the middle to provide camber.

I'm interested in your stabilizers you built. Can you share any details or additional pics about how they work and how you set them up.

BTW, I'm a Colorado (mainly San Juan Mtn) back roads junkie.

Front wall is about 5 feet and it is about 7 foot in the back. Stands 9'2" off the ground on the wheels. And yes the camper was bent by a friend of mine as that axle is manufactured by us us using spindles from tractor supply. The stabilizers were really easy. I will post better pics.

Thos is tye base plate made from 3/16" × 5" flat stock and a couple 1/4 " tabs drilled for a 3/8" pin. (I mocked it up using the bolt. The leg of the stabilizer was 1/16" 1x1 square tube. Drilled for the 3/8 pin on the bottom. On the other end you cant see i cut a notch and added a 3" piece of 3/4" angle iron to rest on the rear bumper mounts. Also i bent the base plate and welded on a large diameter nut to hook the ratchet strap into. If anyone wants more pics. Send me your email as i have a heck of a time resizing the pics on here.
