And voila. 11 weeks later, over budget, and surprisingly lighter than I thought, it emerges from my garage a full fledged teardrop.

With just a few small details to finish like lift struts for the hatch, a mount for the spare tire, proper tail lights, baby moons for the wheels and other little tick tack details we enjoyed the first maiden voyage last weekend without a hitch.

Thanks to everyone on this forum that answered questions and provided the inspiration to tackle this build and to Frank Bear, and the others at Vintage Technologies.

The best part of a build is that you get to use it and enjoy it and know that you did it yourself.

That is such a nice, classic design and just a beauty! The great part about these that we build is that you have the only one like it. There may or may not be some that might look a bit like it, but each of our homebuilds is unique. You know exactly how it was built, you built it to your own specifications and desires. This is why I love these campers and you have a really nice one!

The interior lights are all from Ikea and exterior/hatch lights were found on Amazon.

Thanks. I definitely took inspiration from many other designs but love it's uniqueness.
