One piece of work I didn't post on was the tail light installation. I bought an HF super duty utility trailer to build on. It came with a trailer light kit. First the instructions for the lights install is lîmited and wrong. The instructions say there are a yellow and two black wires on the left tail light and a green and tow black on the right. There isn't, the left has one yellow and one red an the right one green and one red. To attach to the trailer wire harness connect yellow to yellow and red to brown on left, and green to green and red to brown on right. Also the grounding needs to be done by connecting a ground wire to both tail lights and both running lights and connecting up to the main ground screw on the trailer tongue. I tried different things before doing this and I think because this is a bolt together powdered coated trailer the grounding just didn't work otherwise. I will post pics later. Also note because I built on the frame with additional length and width the light are not directly attached to the trailer frame. I initially tried connecting a ground from each light to a nearby point in the frame and ground down the paint so metal showed, but this didn't work.

We took the camper out for our first camping trip. All worked as planned, and we had a great time! It towed very easily (weighing in at about 1000 lbs), and was a comfortable sleep for my family. for this first trip we kept it pretty close to home travelling only a total of 200 miles. Her is a pic from the campsite...again thanks Sharon, KC and all who helped and provided advice and encouragement during the build.

I have put about 1.5 k miles on the camper with no problems. Here are a couple of things I didn't post on.
For the front facing window I made a very simple rock guard. I bought a cord guard like this one: https://www.wayfair.com/Wiremold-CordMa ... .html?PiID[]=9405292&source=hotdeals
And cut it, painted it black and silicone caulked it into place at the top and bottom of the window frame. I bought a piece of corrugated plastic and cut it to size and just slide it into the Channel created with the cord guard. It cost about 18 dollars and took about an hour to do. Also as KC suggested I secured the board that holds the battery box to the tongue with square shoulders u bolts on either side.

I made a couple of updates since I needed more storage, and in cooler weather camping we don't want to have to leave the camper at night for bio needs:

I added two cabinets/storage cubes (bought at IKEA) and attached to the underside of the front shelf. they are simply screwed in from the bottom up into the shelf and also screwed into the shelf framing.

I added coat hangers (wood bars with pegs) above each entry door. This adds storage capacity and acts as curtains at nights

I hung two cloth wardrobes (also from ikea) by means of installing a hanging curtain rod (cut down to size) into the roof spars.

I swapped out my queen size folding mattress for an xl twin size and bought a dometic porta potty that stay in the camper at night
