DaveInConesus, I don't have a problem with that. I might talk your ear off about it though, but this my 4th build and I've sourced a lot of stuff both local and mail order. I'll actually be in Vitale park tomorrow around lunchtime if you read this. I can't seem to find the private message option though...Anyway we live in the Farmington/Macedon area and I only pop on this forum every so often. I've also had absolutely zero time to actually work on my build but I'm hoping to get on it now that I've wrapped up or postponed some other projects. I'm usually around and work weird off hours so most days would work for me.

FYI There's no more (PM) private messaging any more. It has to do with some new laws on human trafficking. :? Sucks for us. :(

I didn't see this and just popped the same question over in my registration thread. I was down in Corning looking at Lauren's build on Monday. It is really nice. Can you send me an email at [email protected]? We can communicate that way.

Registering my build as a home made trailer was pretty easy. As discussed previously I called a couple local gravel yards and found one that would weight a trailer for $5. I brought in my landscape trailer to get a weight slip under 1000 lbs, brought everything to the DMV and told them it would have a 1500 lb GVWR, and it was a done deal. There was no difference in doing it this way than if I had weighted the actual build when it was just the frame. When I explained the to the lady at the DMV that I'd be sleeping in it she did say it could be registered as a house coach but that it would cost more. So she entered it as a regular trailer.

Finished the trim along the frame.

This is my special order super low profile Fantastic vent that I needed to have clearance through our old apartment's garage door. Now I don't need it but it still helps and is much lower than their standard vents.

Installed the electrical for the DOT lights, interior DC and AC. I used a PD4135 and a 30 amp stainless Furrion inlet just so I could make use of certain RV accessories if ever needed. Its total overkill. I estimate we'll never draw more than maybe 10 amps DC.

Looks a bit messy but I wanted to leave lots of extra wire in case I ever needed to move anything. I also don't have a ton of room but I did leave space for a battery. Although I don't think I'm actually going to put a battery in this compartment. I'm going to use a high amp trolling motor plug and socket to make having the battery more optional and easily moveable.

Dimmer switches for interior LED lights and I also made the "porch" light dimmable. I want lots of light when needed but not all the time.

I'm clear coating anything not anodized or stainless. The baggage doors, entry door, and roof molding will be polished and clear coated. Here you can see the different between the baggage doors before and after I did a quick hand polish on the trim.

I used a single 5' x 12' sheet of high pressure laminate on each sidewall and also cut smaller pieces to cover most of the interior framing/bulkheads.

Thank you for the compliments! I'm definitely not very artistic so I just try to keep everything fairly simple, clean, and smooth looking.

I finally have the trailer in usable condition even though its not finished. It still needs the pedestal table and benches, tongue box, interior trim work, bedside storage, and maybe some additional USB outlets. Little things like that. We took it out for 4 nights and towed it over 300 miles. It towed great and even at 60mph, a very bumpy highway, and rain, we had no problems. I think I accelerated my hair loss though since this is the first and only trailer frame I've ever made and it could have snapped in half 30 miles down the road.

Storage doors on.

I test fitted the bunk parts first then stained and assembled.
