Jcricket's first build - the adventure begins

Postby jcricket » Mon May 30, 2016 9:17 pm

Okay folks,
I have been lurking a little, thinking a lot(smell smoke anyone?), and doing some reading. Yesterday I finally found what I think will be a very good trailer to build upon. It is a homemade, heavy duty flat bed. The current platform is 5' wide and 7'long. The construction is almost entirely 2x2x1/4" wall steel tube. All welded. The axle is actually a 2" square tube with hubs using 15" tires.

In the pictures it shows the original configuration with the front stad-up(not sure what else to call it). I cut that off today an will have it welded onto the front thus giving me a 5' x 8.5' platform. This will also effectively move the axel back a bit. For the tongue, i have ordered another piece of 2"sq, 1/4" wall, 4 foot long piece of tube. nce I get this stuff welded I'll move onto the painting, new lights, coupler, etc.

Anyways, I am off to a start. I am having problems uploading at the moment. I'll see if I can figure it our

All my attempts to attach a file from my documents gives me the message

"the image file you tried to attach is invalid"

it is a jpg image.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong???

It might be a file size issue. I had the same problem. I resized all my images at 25% and then I was able to upload them. Took me about 20 minutes or so before I could figure out what was going on.

You need to use a 3rd party host to put the images into first. I use photobucket. You setup an account (free), upload the pictures, then copy the link to your post. The image comes from their server, not your hard drive. Once you click on your image & it's open, the img file on the right (4th from the top, or the bottom link) is what you copy & paste into your build thread.

To post the images, I did the following:
1. Went to a link in your post, ex. http://s1110.photobucket.com/user/hoeflers4/media/IMG_1883.jpg.html?filters=117203885&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=2
2. Using mouse, did a right click on the picture
3. Chose "Copy Image Location"
4. Returned to TNTTT & pasted the link into this post below
5. Highlighted the link I'd just posted
6. Clicked "Img" in the options area above the reply box

There are other ways, depending on the image hosting service you are using. I just find the above works for most situations.
