How to find a member's build journal...

Postby TimC » Wed Aug 24, 2016 10:56 pm

OK, this is probably very simple, but, I can't figure it out. I click on a member's name or a photo of their TD and I look for a link to their build journal, and, I just can't ever find the journal. I search their user name in "Build Journals" and come up with nothing. I know there is probably a simple way to see a member's build journal if they don't have a link in their posts, but, I can't figure it out. Help!

If they don't offer a link does that mean I can't see their journal?

I don't think there is a "magic button", but the following will get you to the member's build journal most of the time:

In the avatar, click on the member name to get to the member's profile. When the member's profile comes up, look about midway down on the page. You'll see two banners. On the left hand side the banner header is "Contact ____ " (user name). On the right hand side the banner header is "User Statistics". Under "User Statistics", look for "Most Active Topic". More often than not, the member's most active topic will be the member's build journal. Select the topic to get the build journal.

Thanks Tom (and Linda)... I wasn't able to find the build journal for him, but, I sent a private message to see if he will share a link to the journal. I'm starting planning my second TD and rather than the cedar plank look I did with #1 I want to try a flatter, more water tight version of a woodie similar to his.

Maybe there should be a sticky on the build journals forum that explains how to add a link in your signature. I'm sure it's just a matter of some people not knowing how.
Either that, or another field can be added to our profiles where we can place a link to it there?
