Inventory is done. They missed two screws and four mushroom vents. I'll email them tomorrow. I'm pooped. This thing has a real IKEA vibe. I may have to give it a pseudo skandenavian name. Haagenndrupen or the like.

just sold a CLC Eastport Sailing Pram after doing a total restoration/rescue on it

the original owner/builder did a LESS THAN STELLAR job on the build and the finish and what i got was IN DIRE NEED...

after completely stripping her down to nekkid wood I WAS QUITE IMPRESSED w/ the quality of the components and designed method of assembly, with tabb'd parts that fit into well designed & positioned slots

fortunately i was able to back up far enough to properly bond the parts that were questional, re-glass the bottom & do a complete finish job suitable to the little girl's heritage

the result was a lovely little pram that functioned AS ADVERTISED :applause:

NOW, as a fan of CLC i've got my large tub of POPCORN, a big ole glass of SWEET TEA & will be following your build

CARRY ON & lotsa pics PLEASE

If you want a real good idea of how CLC's stuff goes together, you need to look in on their shop cam.

Warning! It is VERY addictive!

I lost yesterday to collage football and visiting with my daughter after the game.
Today, I got my feet wet with resin and glasswork. I like how CLC planned the first effort to be on a part that doesn't show.ImageImage
BTW the finger joints are cut beautifully.

Lessons learned so far.

1) Yes, it worth your time to do an inventory. I found a couple missing parts and CLC was quick to send them.
2) Epoxy, when in doubt, throw it out. I lost track of which cup was which while checking pump accuracy and was considering pouring the contents back into the gallon containers. Good thing I didn't.
3) Take your time! This epoxy has a nice long working time.
4) Less is more! Use just enough epoxy to saturate the cloth on the first coat. I had experienced the fabric floating away from the surface on one of the tape joints. If you find this happening, use plastic sheeting to pull away the excess epoxy.
5) Former 6 and 2 look alike but are not! I should have marked them with a sharpie during inventory. Cost me about 30 minutes and put my self imposed deadline at risk!
6) Have a beer! This is supposed to be fun! I'm having trouble with this one. When I have a project I get all "type A" and start setting deadlines. I need to stop that!
