Thanks guys. I just pulled the trailer out of the shop. Installed the fantastic fan and now the 12Volt exterior lights. No way to put it back in the shop now. Trying to get it camp redy for this Wednesday. Hope I make it.

Well I did not make my Wednesday completion. Took the teardrop and went for 4 nights. Been busy since I got back and got most or the little stuff done. I will have to replace the aluminum piano hinge on the bump out. I will replace it with a gear hinge. It's much firmer and should shed the water.

Here is the bump out extended.

Image

This show the lid open on the bump out. Gaskets and draw latches will go on after I replace the hinge.

Image

I cut the mattress so it will fold when the bump out goes in. This is an old mattress out of my first teardrop that I cut to see if it works. When the bump out is extended I just pull the foot of the mattress out at the same time. I can keep my bed made this way. I'll have the mattress store use this as a pattern.

The sink and counter top are installed and the porta Potty bench will come next.

Tongue box is from and antique car. It need some work but I can do that over the winter.

We took her out for a test drive and she pulled great. Brakes are adjusted and the battery charge line is in, so I can charge the battery while I'm driving.

Still need to do a good water test and get some gas struts on the galley.

It's turning out super! But, I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Steve. I think you're going to be very happy with it.

Steve,

Well done! That's a thoughtful build that looks like it will be great to camp in.

A little more progress...

I built the bench for my counter top table. It still needs the clear coat and the upholstery on the seat.

The top folds back and the front accordions out of the way and uncovers the porta potti.

Just caught up with your build. Excellent craftsmanship. I saw this today on Syracuse Craigslist. The lines are very similar. I also noticed the tongue box. Is that the same box from one of your previous builds?

That is a very similar profile. It should make a fun project for someone. The tongue box is not that same one I used before. I have been fortunate to have found 4 of these old car trunks. All different. This one need some work, but I wanted it on for this past weeks maiden voyage.

I am curious what you think your final weight will be. I may be venturing down a similar path as me and the Mrs. get older. Looking fantastic BTW!

Once I get a chance, I will take it and weigh it. My guess is about 1600-1800 LBS. I sure have to say it was so nice to stand up in the morning and put my pants on. Also it poured rain and stepping in, onto a rug and removing my wet coat and dirty shoes and climbing onto a dry clean bed was so nice. You know the saying ,"Simple pleasures are the best".
