Understood. How do you intend to seal the inside of the tank? The sink is no problem, but a closed tank? I can see you glassing two halves, or a basin and a lid; then bonding them together; then pouring a goodly amount of resin in and tumbling it around to seal the inside seam... but will that really be good enough to be sure no moisture ever gets into the wood?

I'm not trying to poo poo your idea; just trying to understand (and hopefully help you, too) the pitfalls that need to be considered and overcome. Perhaps use a lost foam process and ditch the wood altogether?

Been a long time since my last post but I’m still making progress. Just really slowly. I fitted my drawers, installed the sink and laminated the cooler drawer and the counter top. Just about t at the point to start finishing all the wood details with stain and poly. Here’s a picture of where I’m at.

Ooops here's the picture.

I started making my doors, I laminated and bent a frame and am planning on building it essentially like a exterior home door. Sloped threshold, full door jamb with gaskets all around, piano hinge along the front edge. Door will be inset flush with the exterior of the trailer. All wood will be epoxy coated. Do you guys think this will leak? or should I add a secondary seal somewhere? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

A little more progress to report, fit up one more door, and sided the inside. Think it looks pretty sweet. Also did a rough fit of the kitchen drawers and doors. Going to wait until I get the floor mounted on the frame before I do the final fit up in case the frame puts a little twist on the woodwork.

I reattached the other wall so I could do some more fitup. Looks like a Teardrop now!

Making some progress, finished the other side of the interior and added the door jamb. Cutout the light switches for the dome and outside lights.

Made the headboard, bottom has a removable panel, I plan on putting most of my electrical in there. I will put cabinet doors in the two outer spots, the middle will have a shelf. It'll get painted white when I'm done.

I sketched up the frame because I'm getting close to needing it! Not finished yet mostly just to figure how much steel I'll need. I was going to install half axles but it seems like it'll be easier to install a full axle. Now I just need to scrape up the money to finish!!

Been a while since i gave a status update. Since last post, I completely finished the headboard. Painted, cabinet doors fitted, bungee net on shelves. I also did a lot of work on the roof spars and ceiling. I made the openings for the fan and also the DIY skylight, made the curved trim for the skylight. I glued the spars to the inside ceiling, the ceiling will go in as one complete assembly.I plan on covering the ceiling with car headliner material eventually (before the final install).

I had some salvaged aluminum street signs which I cut into tiles for the backsplash in the galley area. Any ideas on what to glue them onto the ply with? Also, should I clear coat them? I sanded a texture on the surface.

I'm thinking PL would be good. Here's a couple of picture of the tiles laid out on the counter, I think they look pretty good.

I think PL is a good choice for the adhesive.

More progress lately. I’m pretty close to as far as I can go without getting aluminum sheet for the exterior. I still have to figure out fenders. Image

DANG fine work!

I don't think you have enough stripper boats, by the way.

Thanks! Those are my next projects, I have to clean them up to get them ready for the spring.

I think I’m going to make my fenders from woodstrip and fiberglass. I’m to cheap to spend the money for Kenskill style fenders. I’m sure I’ll regret it but I have to try.
