Tejas Benroy Resto

Postby Jonnyadv » Wed Aug 08, 2018 12:09 am

Hello everyone. I have recently acquired what I am pretty sure is an original Benroy or King Richard teardrop camper. Below are the pictures of it when i picked it up and when I got it home. The gentlemen that owned it had passed away and had just kind of started to take it apart for a restoration. My plan is to keep going right where he left off and bring her back to life. If anyone is reading this and has an original Benroy also and can message me I would love to call and ask you some questions about one that is all together as this one is missing a few things or they are taken apart and i need to figure out the original composition of some of the parts. Thanks for looking and any help or advise will be very appreciated.

Started the teardown. From the look of it someone had put new siding on it at some point but didn't really seal anything so thats where all the rot came from.

Any photos of the galley? I'd be interested to see if they had the original ice chest (with galvanized interior) like I've seen in old pictures; and if so, will you re-furbish it and use it like in the old days?

It had the door only inside was gutted. also had the original sink, but not the stove. I will post a picture of the door tomorrow so you can see it. not sure exactly what I'm going to do with the galley yet but it did have the swing up counter going to probably keep that little function.
