I also just realized I forgot to post about when my coworker welded some metal tubing to extend the length of our trailer. This was also advice received from the Dad Rambles YouTube channel!ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Been working on the interior cabinets and the ceiling this week! Thought I'd throw up some pics It's pretty cool how rigid the walls became once the ceiling was put in. We got a little more done than is shown in these pics, but we're planning to work some tomorrow and also hoping to get a full day of work in on Monday too.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Finished a little bit more inside. The cabinets are staying shut really well so I don't think we should have issues on the road. Time will tell! Going to start framing the roof and do a little more work on the doors tonight.ImageImageImageImage

Thank you! I'm happy to hear we are being helpful lol - it's crazy learning as we go, but we are getting far! You guys can do it too!

Spent the weekend completing more of the roof framing and trying to finish up the doors. Spent like 2-3 hours sanding one of the doors to fit and boy was that a pain in the butt! In hindsight probably should have just made the doors rectangular lol. Oh well we're committed to them now, so I'll try to work on them more tonight! My main problem was needing a new sanding belt and when Kyle went to Lowe's for it, they were out of the ones we needed!

Also got one of the 1/8" birch sides on the galley so we can start cutting out the hatch ends soon and start that process

Need to add the edge framing in the roof still and I believe we plan to do that tonight. Kyle also cut out a piece of insulation for the roof which proved to be a bit difficult around the curves. On a positive note I believe I have all the correct wiring in the roof!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Your build (continues) to look great.

Kyle also cut out a piece of insulation for the roof which proved to be a bit difficult around the curves.

I did this yesterday:

seeing this pic reminded me of a tool used in the truck/cargo/hauling industry

truckers use LOAD LOCKS / CARGO BARS to keep their loads from shifting

they are like pipe camps except they press outward(against trailer walls) to hold loads in place and could easily press your sheeting against the framing while the glue cures

$20/ea plus freight and up...

or you can buy them at your local full service truck stop ;-)

justa thought

I love your build. Looks similar, but, better than my first woodie. My brother is building on a NT 5x8 right now and I sent him a link to your build for ideas, encouragement, motivation, etc.

Good Job!

Finally got one of these bastards to fit! Still will need to do a bit of sanding to fit the trim but feeling amazing that it at least fits at all lol. When I've got the other one fitting I'll go ahead and finish each side so they match the walls - wanted to be sure they fit before doing that extra work.

Also Kyle got some more roof framing done!ImageImageImageImage
