Not at this point, but the dust ain't settled. It's been the big push to get this out the door and get some camping in before winter slams. Maybe Steph's artful eye will kick in next summer.

I use Hartford and of course, they carried the coverage on Flash, our 2013 teardrop.

"When did you buy it?"

"We're a small production operation and this is our new demo model --so we manufactured it in our shop here at our facility this summer."

We? Production facility? What the..?

Does this make me a bad person?

Anywho, she's insured and we're gonna hitch up and do a quick campout this evening a few miles into the black forest. Gotta beat this pending storm. She's valued at $15,000 with $200 deductible. I think it's about $85 annually.

I was hoping to get out this weekend, but the weather has already started pounding our desired destination. Maybe next week...?



I think we've all been there ...ish.

I build custom rifles for personal use and often sell off the original parts.
Shipment of barrels via UPS requires 'bending' the truth, as they closed their customer service counter here and the UPS Store is not allowed to handle firearm parts (not even stocks). (FedEx is an even worse situation, and USPS shipments always turn into empty boxes.)

It's the same thing, every time:
Millenial with pink and green hair, behind the counter: "What's in the box?"
Me: "High pressure steel tubing."

Occasionally, they get more nosy:
Pink/green: "For what?"
Me: "Testing aerodynamic and terminal impact performance of special non-ferrous alloys propelled by high pressure gas to speeds up to Mach five."
Pink/green: "Oh, sciency stuff! Must be pretty sensitive."
Me: "Yes. Please be careful with it."

Smoldering. Not a full-blown conflagration, but guilt-free. I'm not sure if the clown is a metaphor for the evils of big-insurance or for me. But as I said, I'm as guilt-free as a three-month-old pup.

I was hoping to get out this weekend, but...

(We've got a friend north of you in Island Park that's facing this pending blizzard with a rear-wheel-drive car.)

It got a bit breezy after dinner so we passed on the campfire, pre-warmed the cabin for ten minutes and then snuggled in for a bit of tube on the iPad. We're going to love the heater. Same thing in the morning.

This was our camp twenty minutes from home. All of this public land sucks. We had a grouse nearby but my incompetence greatly extended his life.





I think this plumbed-in Partner stove is the real McCoy. (I did lots of dithering how I was going to get the rubber hose to work while the stove is nested and expanded, but it wasn't a big deal and works great. Lots of heat but has a nice simmer. I was concerned that the 18" length might be a bit small compared to the Primus we had in Flash, but it's fine. Maybe this winter I'll add a couple of piezo igniters to the burners. (They are spendy stoves but extremely well-built.)



It'll be nice having the 11-pound tank and no more dealing with 1-pound refillable bottles.

Bold may be the right adjective. When I hauled to the courthouse for the inspection it got the town talking. People really like it.

They're $130 on Northern Tool plus $20 shipping. It's the same box Vistabule uses. I like it. Put a thirty-watter on it too.
