I'm not big on "shake and squirt" type foods, at least for eating. Generally I don't like eating stuff that I can't pronounce the ingrediants either. For traveling, stuff that doesn't have to be kept cold is always best. Unless you like sleeping with a garbage bag, packaging needs to be considered, burnable is best.
For pancakes I think Krusties is best because you just add water.
Canned bacon was mentioned above, some of it is extremely salty and needs to be rinsed before cooking. Then there are those other pork products many of which I can't figure out what part of the pig they don't use. If you didn't know what was in it, some of the extruded pork products might be edible.
Cooking outdoors is part of the adventure. Thats why we like cast iron, etc. Don't short change yourself.
