That's folk art. Worth big bucks, according to Antiques Road Show.

Any work been done on this Scotty?

Dan....that's a challenge, hard to undo a whole Wavy Gravy world of crap....no telling what it's all hiding, I like the self leveling sink thing though....Doug

Yes, it is kind of like those swiveling drink holders on boats I guess!
And if you know how Scotty's were built, with two 2x4's holding the sides together along the ceiling, well...they are missing! So I think a major overhaul is in order! It came out of South Texas, so I looked it over real good for rattlesnakes.

Dan,

The Scotty is a nice find! I know you'll do another spectacular job with it.

About the same time you first posted this, I was driving around my neighborhood and came across a guy with what I believe is the same model Scotty that he is restoring. His is low enough to fit in a garage and has a stepover door and dropped floor. It looks like yours has the dropped floor but the door threshold is even with the drop floor. (Do you call this a walk out door?)

Good thing you did a rattlesnake search. We don't have many rattlesnakes in this part of Texas, but water moccasins are all around (by water) and we do get the occasional copperhead.

As with all your builds, I'll be watching this one closely.

Take care,
Tom

WOW!

I wouldn't believe it was the same Scotty if I hadn't seen the before and after pictures myself! Good Job!
