I did find out some information about the trailer chassis maker

Founded in 1945 in Whittier, California, Zieman Manufacturing is the industry leader in towable trailers and manufactured home chassis west of the Rockies. Zieman began manufacturing teardrop trailer chassis for Kit Manufacturing in 1946 and quickly expanded into the marine trailer market. The 1960's saw expansion into the custom heavy duty equipment hauler market followed by an entry into the towable RV and Manufactured (MH) chassis market in the 1970's. In that same decade, Zieman expanded into the light equipment trailer market and quickly became the west coast industry leader. Zieman enjoyed great success and established itself as an industry leader into the next century, so much so that Lippert Components, leading supplier to the RV industry, took notice and aquired Zieman in 2004.

Today, Zieman enjoys an unparalleled access to the entire RV and towable trailer supply chain. With the synergies created with their parent company, Lippert Components, Zieman can offer a quality product at an aggressive price. We are the only company that offers a full line of towable trailers to the entire motorsports industry. With our half century of experience and outstanding track record, we are sure to meet your needs. Contact us today to experience the Zieman difference.

Danny, i take the wife with me and ask her if i should buy the trailer, of course she always says its your money, but like always the trailer somehow becomes her personal property and she lets me use it, tow it, set it up, and put gas in the tow rig  works for me

 That's what happened to my Dalton. When I first got it, she didn't want anything to do with it. Then I cleaned it up and got it painted and she took it from there. Whenever I talk about selling it, she says no way.

Used my daughter's truck to get it home.

Nice trailer find! Zieman was a supplier to many trailer manufacturers during the period.

This is so funny! To Me anyways... I pulled out an old model plate that I had sitting in a box of stuff, just this weekend. Years ago the owner was clearing an area of an old trailer park, and even offered those three trailers over there to me for free if I could get it out by that weekend.

My heart sank, no room, and needed various tasks to get it towable. No way I could get it done that weekend. Anyway, I have a model plate for the Roadmaster made in El Monte. Did a light sandblast to clean it up. I have pictures of the trailer but need to really dig for it. I also have one for the Skyline Coach Co, Inc. Elkhart Ind.

Just holding on to the plate until I find the matching trailer. I looked at your pictures, and you already have a name plate on your trailer. Do you need one, or just want it because I posted it? PM me.

little work done on the trailer

Postby mvperini » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:04 pm

I have done a little work on the inside of the trailer last weekend, the wife had a ladys tea party so i had to find something to do.

The trailer used to have a slide out bench that made into a bed but was removed and a old full size bed was put in the trailer, so when you opened the side compartment all you had was the floor under the bed. Removed the bed and made storage unit that will also be used as a platform for the new bed

I still have to stain the wood to match the rest of the trailer , now i have storage for all the outside stuff. and extra storage inside the trailer

also made new curtains for the trailer, as the wife does not sew

Picture of the new 12 ft awning I ordered from Marti, great work and great service

we camped with about 8 other vintage trailers as this was a pre camp out before the Mciver vintage trailer rally next month
when the campground will be full of vintage trailers as we have booked every site, should be fun

Thanks , i am always looking for stuff for our vintage trailers never know what you will find. was over at the wifes sister-in laws for easter dinner and made a comment that the full bear hide that was on her Den floor would look great in my 56 Roadmaster trailer. great she said but you have to take both of them she had another one in the garage  cost free. the look on the wifes face was priceless :frightened:
