I need help installing my stove

Postby ioan » Tue May 08, 2012 2:32 pm

Here is the instructions page on how to install it. It's simple, but I don't have the pieces that they say "supplied by installer", so here is what I need:
    1) 3/8” O.D. gas supply tubing w/ flared end (6" long)
    2) Flare nut
    3) Gas supply tube

I have two questions, do the stores like Lowes or Home Depot sell tubing with already made flared end (like in the picture, step 4)
... and the other question, where do I find a gas supply hose that has the connection that fits the 16oz propane cylinders? I searched everywhere and I can't find one.

Home Depot or Lowes will sell the flaring tool, the nut, and the copper tubing. If you have a plumbing buddy, you can probably get for next to nothing. You might even try a plumbing supply store. If they are in a freindly and helpful mood, they might just make up the pipe for you for a reasonable price.

I've had good luck going to the local bulk propane supplier.
They have helped me out every time.
A happy customer is a repeat customer.
Now with that being said, not every outfit has the same philosophy.

I measured the length I needed and took the stove top with me to the local RV store and bought it. They should have a hassle-free answer to what you need, already done and ready to attach. When it comes to something like propane, I try not to mess around. :)

IF you are looking for connector for 16oz. propane bottle try looking here... ( keywords is "disposable tank connector)

Under "Propane Camping...
http://www.protanksupply.com/adjustable ... ators.asp#

or...

http://mrheater.com/ProductFamily.aspx?catid=58

Or most any camping, sporting goods, hardware store (bbq section)...

Keep in mind output of 16oz canister pressure is about 125 psi at about 70°f., you may need to use intermediate regulator bring down "tank" pressure to somewhat lower pressure that "stove" regulator is designed to take IF its input can not take full tank pressure ( stove regulator may assume low pressure propane is being supplied at end of tubing).... Most of these type of travel trailer/rv stoves assume there is a a low pressure out put at propane tank...

A simple device called a "Steak Saver" can be used to adapt a 16oz. disposable canister to the trailer/rv/propane industry standard low pressure POL regulator...

Thanks Dale for the links.

Yeah, I'll have to see if the regulator the stove come with can handle the pressure, I never thought that could be a problem. I have no experience in working with propane.
