Got a little done lots of glueing, I tried to use GS as much as possible because that will dry at a higher humidity but it was 75% humidity today. I have to glue canvas on the doors tomorrow. I was going to do it today but the rain and all the lightning didn't help I am going to try to glue both doors tomorrow Morning. I have three more pieces of 1/2 inch foam to glue on then the second layer of foam on the hatch and the roof. then overnite drying and then canvas. canvas the sides, top and hatch. I am hoping I can do it by Friday if the rain will hold off . then let it dry dry dry.

Best of luck to you Mary ... seems you have everything well under control .... but the weather ... Nobody can do anything about that ... not yet anyway ...

If I were to try it, I would just bevel cut the pieces, butt join them (both layers, if you're doing more than one) and sand them smooth to each other prior to canvas. That's a pretty sharp bend you're trying to make. The end result should look fine and I bet you're the only one who will know you did it that way!

Holy cow! Can't believe you managed to get any gluing done with all the rain yesterday. Good going on making any progress in this weather. It's crazy, like monsoon season.

you can all see my various clamps the most successful one, I think is the coleman stove!!! of course the chain saw bar oil makes a good argument for being the best too.


and yes I got it all glued somehow, it sorta rained then stopped I would do a little then it would rain again. this was over and over and in between I was going back and forth through grass that is knee high and wet. but you do what ya gotta do.

One can never have enough clamps. Yes, boxes of tile, paint cans, bricks, sandbags, power tools, buckets of water count too!!!

Do I see camo colored Duck tape in one of those pics? Hope the kerfing is going better.

Looking at a different pic I think you are correct. Funny thing, I've seen camo duct tape but not camo ratchet straps.

Ratchet strap, used as a clamp it is amazing works great and yes it is camo I bought the cheap ones and they are really tough for me to use so I got the 16 foot more expensive ones they are great!!!! They work great as clamps and all sorts of other things.

I have not built anything in a long time and I was having a hard time sawing a straight line, something was messed up on my saw and in order to saw straight I had to just watch the blade. .......I cleaned the saw dust off this one part of the saw and I found a place to do an adjustment.

Well I got a special ruler with 64th on it, and I went to adjusting. now it will saw straight. I had forgotten all about the adjustment. I was going to give it away ......Not now.

I've spent plenty of time driving a skilsaw and , I gotta say, nothing's better for seeing your cut than...actually seeing your cut.

I was going to give it away ......Not now.

Just a thought, but if you stack a SS screw, a finish washer, and a fender washer, you'll get something that you can leave exposed and you won't have to worry about nails 'popping' over time.

True dat...but....it can be done, even with 'thrifty' in mind. They don't work everywhere, but where they do it's an almost free way to have a whole box full of clamps made of scraps of plastic pipe:



You can play around with the width of the cut and the length of the piece to adjust the clamping force to be whatever you need. I use 1/8" doorskin scraps to keep from digging into the foam.
I like that this saves my F-clamps and pipe clamps for where I really need them. They excel at laminating strips together, but they also work really well on edges of panel glue ups.

Kudzu we're in Game by God of course we have camp duck tape and ratchets!!
