I wonder if the subjects of foam and beer just naturally go together?

GPW, At some point, now that the kids are leaving the nest (last one is off to college in August :D :D :D ) the wife and I are planning to hit the road and see the good ol' US of A via RV. Hopefully our journeys will take us to your neck of the woods. I'll make sure I have enough "ballast" to get from Nevada to NOLA. I'd be glad to share with PcHistorian, GPW and all of the other foamlings on this site. No donations necessary, just honest critique and good company is enough.

And there is something about homebrew having a little more of the "right stuff". I don't try to brew higher alcohol beers, but it just happens... 8) 8)

Hey All,

Been months since I've checked in. All winter I spent hours and hours learning to play guitar, finally making progress with a long way to go. Music has always been interesting to me but never made the time to learn and now that I have started, I do not want to stop.

Amazing how much new info there is in the foamie section! Just spent a couple of hours trying to catch up a bit. I love Rosie's boat! Got me thinking about a new canoe project . I have also been dreaming of a whitewater kayak out of foam.

Anyhow, I just pulled the foamie out of the barn to get it ready for kayaking this spring. Looks just like it did when I put it away except that the cats used the window screen to crawl up on top! Did not really do any work on it over the winter. This spring I did start to make some cloth over cardboard panels to finish the inside. I'll get some new pictures on here when I get finished with the interior. I added a shelf in the front made out of an old hollow core door (light and free!) I also added a small storage box for clothing, also made out of a hollow door. All in all I have found this trailer to be a great mobile bed room. I get plenty of ventilation with the window fully open and I open the door and drop the screen when it is really hot outside. I last camped in late October and though it was freezing outside, it was comfy inside.

Someone asked about the window. My wife got it from one of her suppliers. The window was a sample unit that they wanted to get rid of so she picked it up for about 15 bucks. The windows are designed for patio rooms of folks that live on golf courses so the window itself is a thick tinted shrink wrap type material.

Hope that everyone has a Happy Easter!

Pat, Great to hear from you !!! Been a while !!! Please join us more often , we could use a little “back up” ... yes, there are still folks that don’t believe that Foam works ...

Much as expected , Foamies “survive” pretty well... Mine has been living outside as a test and is yet unchanged and un-leaking despite some horrendous amounts of rain lately ... Your experience only confirms this fact about durability !!! And of course, you know we’ll want to see the :pictures:
Ps. I want a Foamie boat too .. with a small sail ... :o

Re: Music ...PM me and I’ll send you a CD... Just the reminiscences of aging rockers ...

After seeing Rosey's, me too. I've been thinking in a bit of different direction though - I have an old 18 horse Evinrude I'm not using.

Hey All

This past week I got to work on the interior of the foam TD a bit to get it ready for the season.

This image shows the new bi-fold screen I made to replace the drop down screen which had proved awkward.91624
The image is obviously rotated 90 degrees.

This is the screen in it's stowed folded position.

This is the new shelf added to the front and the fabric added to the ceiling.
91626
The shelf and the new storage are all made from one hollow core door which was a freebie from a demo job.

This shows the added hinges to the front storage box.
91629

This is the center ceiling panel foam over cardboard held up by mouldings.
91627

This is a view of the rear. The new fabric glued right to the foam and the ceiling bows made from 1/8 inch tempered hardboard.
91622
Should have hidden the wire in the foam before covering DOH!

This shows the new storage next to the bed.

This is my new travel guitar!

Thanks for the comments Louella and GPW,

One of the best things is that I got a large amount of that upholstery fabric for $1 at a thrift store!
