If you ever do have to use the FoamStream for its intended purpose, you will probably be going below a reasonable speed. Evacuations and high speed don't seem to go together.

I agree.
One thing, make sure you have a spare.
Chances are you would have a hard time finding one during an evac.

On one EVAC we calculated our average speed at a most conservative 3.75 mph … Horrible traffic … Extremely slow moving …after we got past the traffic we never got past 55mph for the next 100 miles .
And you know , at 70 years old now , I don’t rush around anymore and prefer to just “cruise’” and enjoy the passing landscape ( @ 3.75 mph ) :R So Speed is Not a concern , other than having to get an orange triangle for the back of the trailer …
That and the FS is really Light … Foam eh !!!
After all the reading here , I just try to keep up with maintenance, or in this case replacements .

Ps. I plan to use the old FS tires to put on a boat trailer I’m restoring , which were doing just to get it out of the yard and make the Wife Happy ( for a short time ) ... ;) Somebody is going to get a super deal on a trailer ( it even has titles)

It’s no secret we’ve all had a good deal of rain … My yard is like a swamp ( no politicians thankfully) so we checked on the FS out in the yard and it’s still nice and dry inside , and no Ants … The Drip edges and ant bait are working perfectly … 8)
Happy New Year everybody !!! :P

OK, folks … we pushed the button on a pair of Walmart mail order tires ( with rims) …. the two were right under a hundred dollars, with free shipping … Should be here tomorrow …

We do have plans for the old ones , they look perfect , but at 5 years old I’m not quite sure I can trust them on a long (slow) trip… :NC
They will work just fine though on the old boat trailer I restored ( to get it out of the yard for the wife ) .. We dug it out of the weeds , pressure washed and wire brushed it all down and gave it a generous coating of Rustoleum … Had to replace the hub on one side , and rebuilt the other … It still needs a couple areas that need minor attention , and the boat parts ( rollers) need replacing , but my helper tells me every boat is different and the new owner will rig it for their own needs anyway . If I had my way I’d rip all that boat stuff off and build another Foamie ... :D But we already have another trailer for that ...

So I’m going to put it on Craig’s list , see If i can find a home for it …. But before I do that , I’m offering it to anybody here that needs a trailer for a small “3T" build … It’ll fit a 16’ boat , so it’s not that small … here’s some pics … I’m asking for what I have in it …( $45.00 ) but only from tnttt family …

Ps. we have titles … ;)

And , my helper couldn’t come over till late last night ( work ) so we changed the tires off the Foamstream in the dark … And it looks good ( under flashlight ) , nice new tires on the camper ( the other ones had 50 miles on them :o ) , and Bigger tires on the little trailer ( it doesn’t look like a little trailer anymore … ) Pics when it gets light …

Ps. The 12 X 5.30 tire pair with rims from Walmart were less than $100.000 delivered …. I checked the date codes to see if they sold me some old donuts , but the code indicated less than a year old … (0418)
Taking care of all this BEFORE the season starts… No more hurried last minute renovations … :R Although it’s brutally COLD here ( 50’s :snowstorm: ) we’re managing to get things done …

OK, here’s the deal … The First tnttt.com member to get here takes it away for FREE … That’s Right !!! No Clams … That is unless I sell it first … :NC So If you need a trailer to make a Foamie camper on a budget , this one would be Easy to adapt … !!! ;)

Starting … Now !!!  :D

And now , the more we look at the trailer … if we removed all that boat support stuff, we “could" put a nice “board floor" down and build a nice simple Foamie cabin over it … Maybe a pretty classic Teardrop shape , four feet wide ( inside ) , and a chance to heat bend the whole roof/front/back to shape , making the construction really strong and LIGHT ( Unibody ) …

Home maintenance jobs finished for this year ( and a good many to come) , FS is Ready ! we have basically a whole Spring time to build … Got most of the materials already … Hmmmm ???

Probably get a lot more for a nice little Foamie camper , especially if it had a Cool paint job on it … ( my specialty ) 73427
