QUOTE: "One of the best things is that I got a large amount of that upholstery fabric for $1 at a thrift store!”
That seems to be one of the best things about Foamies in general ... You don’t need “the Best” most expensive stuff to make it work ... salvage/scavenged materials really keep the cost down ... works fine for we the 99%

Hey All,

Been a while since I checked in. Had my trailer ready to camp since late spring but we are dealing with an illness in the family and have not been willing to be away from home. This last weekend I got to make my first kayaking trip of the year and the foamie, once again, performed flawlessly. Only thing left to add is an awning system to cover the door and window when rain is likely. I think I have a solution for that and I'll post pics when that is done. Glad to see all of the new builds progressing.

I did see a teardrop pulling out of the campground but did not get to meet those folks.

Hope everyone has a good camping season!

Hey All

Got to take my TD to Slippery Rock this weekend she is holding up very well just a bit dirty from being in the barn. Was thinking of painting it to match my newest tow vehicle 2004 Buick Rendezvous. I made a simple frame of pvc pipe to hold a small awning to cover the window and door. I'll take pics of that when I get a chance.

Pat, since you’ve been at this since the beginning , could you please give us a frank evaluation of the trailer ...and the foamie' concept as applied to your needs ... You know , how’ it’s worked out , and holding up ...what do you think about it in the “long run” ? ...

Yes Pat, Please!!!!! We've been gathering a lot of anecdotal evidence that this works. Since you were the trailblazer, that would help add more info to our collection. As far as I know, we've never had a foamie fail. We've had a few incidents (I alone account for 2...  ) but nothing that has been caused by materials or method. Now if we can add long-term, real-life use to the data, we can argue with anyone about whether or not this works....

Hey All,

Good idea to write a review. I'll give it some thought so that I might be thorough. I'll take pics next time I set up to camp and then I'll post my thoughts at the same time.

Mel,

Glad that your trailer held up well to the incidents. Hope that never happens to me!

Hey All,

Finally got out for four soggy days of kayaking and camping. Got some pictures here of my awning system which is simple, effective, and easy to set up.
