GPW wrote:“ that it will actually reduce the strength of TB2 “ .... logical but not quite applicable , only because even thinned TB2 will make a stronger bond than the Foam ... The foam always will fail first , not the glue ... Try wetting the fiberglass cloth with plain water before applying the glue , A common spray bottle will work ...

The structural strength of skin is required in my case of roof upper part not so much adhesion of the foam, since there is no other structural element but the skin. I think I'll need all strength that TB2 can provide in the laminate.

and his conclusions … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpJPwl22lCs

And there’s another reason for a drip edge on all sides … :o

:o

That was almost painful to watch him destroy all that beautiful artwork! There are great lessons to be learned here though. Water seepage is an important thing to consider. Really the only problem he had was at the very bottom of the walls. A drip edge would have solved that issue entirely. Everything else appeared completely dry.

I watched it and I must be late to his party. Why'd he rip it off?

I wasn't sure about that either. I suspect he was cutting into it because he hadn't put in a drip edge and was experiencing some floor softness from water seepage and wanted to do repairs. Removing all of it was extreme but he did say earlier that although he was impressed by the overall effectiveness of PMF he didn't care for the finish.

He said in the video comments that he will re-use the trailer for a kayak trailer and then recycle the windows and other hardware to build a bigger camper using PMF, possibly with bedsheets over plywood for a better finished look. Great tip on dripping edge, it is needed to avoid water damage!

When this Foamie movement started , we were all for “ No Rules”…. Free to experiment … But now I really feel that if you live in a Humid area , we really NEED Drip edges !!! It wasn’t the storms and deluges that caused my little problems. It was the ever present morning dew !!! :o A simple drip edge eliminates a BIG problem …

And for those Woodies , Canvas sticks like Crazy to plywood … !!! :applause:
