So what does a Teardrop Foamie have in common with a Toucan ... Seems we're on the right path using a combination of materials to enhance the strengths of both... and although EXPENSIVE, we probably can actually make a Foamie TD "Bear Proof" ... :o
Cool ,video , Thanks , Wolf !!!

hmmm, cover the foamie in that kevlar cloth. if that ice pick won't puncture it, maybe a bear claw won't either. although, nothing to stop the bear's strenght from pulling it apart.

Bear proof ??? Schmaybe ??? I think if the Bear wants in , they will find a way .... Not only immensely Strong , but Clever too ... :o I like the idea of leaving anything edible a half mile down the road ... And I think that having a car/truck with a remote lock thingie' that allows you to blow the horn continuously (you know , how old folks find their cars at the grocery store parking lot  ) that might just scare the bear away ... They don't like Loud noises ...

Wolf ... I think so too !!! But then I've been using this foam for 20+ years making airplanes out of it ... and they actually fly .... and well too ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g2aMLEgY0c That's 1/4" foam (Dow Fan fold underlayment) with a paper thin plastic skin factory applied ... Very strong as you can see..
Now I told the Foamie airplane guys about Foamie TD trailers to carry their planes in ... and they're all excited ... many visiting here now ... :D

Hey All,

Another good program about foam was a Modern Marvels episode on the History Channel. Showed how EPS is made and some uses you would not have thought, such as road beds!
